[A small groan could be heard as the video feed initially turned on. Zatanna looked...slightly frazzled, but otherwise unhurt. If you didn't count the part where she was holding one side of her head in slight pain, as if dealing with a headache or migraine.]

Okay. Three things. Three...I think. Probably.

[Her stage presence had seen better days. She didn't seem to care right then.]

One. I want to go on record as stating this was definitely not me this time. Just so everyone's clear on that much.

Two. I did find the bottles responsible. Hopefully. Four total. Unstable. Long story. But I have them, and they shouldn't be causing any more trouble.

[She hesitated before the next one, giving a slight wince.]

Two--no, wait, I did two already. How many does that make it? Right. Three: ...the effects should wear off soon enough, but if you're still having some trouble come find me.

...preferably in a day or so. I'm going back to bed to sleep this off.

Okay, how about some hot fruit juice? Or a hot chocolate? Something soothing.

You had me at chocolate.

[Caffeine, Shmaffine. She was exhausted enough that she could sleep a full day even if she took a shot of expresso.]

What about you? Come out of this latest surprise adventure okay?

Chocolate it is. Where are you? I can bring some over.

[He laughs, gesturing idly at his general self. ]

I was something awful and embarrassing, but I got out of it pretty unscathed. Only damage was to my pride.

Home. Ah...the Welcome Center, I mean.

And I know the feeling. Except there might have been slightly more collateral damage on my end. Fortunately, nothing a few...dozen...spells couldn't help fix.

Well, that would explain the exhaustion. Hold tight, I'll be there before you even know it.

[And, like he promised, it doesn't take him long to get to her. There's one good thing about using the rooftops as a method of travel, after all. He enters with a thermos and a bag of something that smells delcious.]

Helloo. I come bearing the gifts of hot chocolate and warm cookies.

[He flinched the latter from Marinette, but he's sure she won't mind. ]

[She smiled sleepily up at him, waving.]

I would kiss you right now if I didn't want to risk the wrath of that partner of yours.

I doubt 'wrath' would be her thing, when it comes to that, I can but hope though.

[He walks over, handing them over. ]

She's arrived here too, by the way. Must have shown up during all the weirdness.

[She reached up with both hands. One accepting the cocoa, and the other, going for the cookies. They were still warm.]

She sure picked a great time to show up. Still...you must be happy. That she's here.

Don't mention it.

[He really is happy she's here. He knew he missed her, but he didn't realise how much until he saw her again. Things just...make more sense when she's around. ]

She's literally good luck, so I'm not surprised by that. But yeah...it's great to have her around again. She'll be swinging around the city, making a difference before you know it.

We could always use a bit of different around here.

She really that powerful?

[He nods, folding his arms and leaning casually on the wall. ]

Absolutely. She's got the power of creation, just like I've got the power of destruction- it's a balance thing. Whatever damage I've seen one of our villains create, from destroying Parisian landmarks to changing civilians into mindless followers- she's always been able to change everything back to normal. You'd never think anything even happened at all.

Huh. I can see why you two would make a good team.

[Depending upon the exact nature of their respective abilities....it really was a perfect balance. He destroys all the bad stuff. She replaces it with good. Removing all traces of whatever the Bad Guys caused on any given day.]

Kind of like your powers were meant to compliment one another.

Hm. From what little I understand about it, that's how it's supposed to be. The other Miraculouses, they're designed for solo work. But ours? They come as a pair.

[And have done since time immemorial. But he doesn't know that much just yet. ]

Let me see if I got this straight. Most of these special abilities are meant to be alone. Except for you two.

I'm not saying I believe in Fate--[Actually, she kind of hates the guy. Long story.]--but that sounds to me like the Universe is trying to tell you something.

[Fate is the worst guy ever.]

Well, my kwami did tell me we were chosen by Fate, so-

[He doesn't know. It's complicated and he knows he's made it more so with all his own feelings. Still, he likes Zatanna a lot, she understands a side of his life most other people outside of Ladybug really don't, so he at least feels comfortable talking to her about these things. ]

She's given it a month here. Then, if she thinks she can, it's cards on the table time.

[Oh, Adrien, you have no idea.]

A months' a decent time. If you're patient.

I've waited this long, never thinking I'd get anywhere.

[He gives a shrug of his shoulders. ]

It's...a step in the right direction, at least.

[And she truly meant it. It was always nice to see that love wasn't lost in this place. And she needed a vicarious thrill after....]

[His smile softens up a tad. ]
