[Hey, Keelial. Remember him? He looks a lot more tired than before, his hair is ruffled and his shirt looks partly undone. It looks like he's sat in the College.]

Anyone noticed the pattern on the Turtle's shell? It's... pulsing. It started like... three? Four days ago? The time between the pulses is getting shorter.

I'm not sure what this means, but... hey. It sounds important, right? I've done some math and, well... I think... [Yawn.] ...I think the pulses are gonna stop in a week or so. If the period between them keeps getting shorter.

Assuming that's what this is.

The universe doesn't take too kindly to people shattering through the barrier between realities, usually.

I see now- and that does make sense. None of us is where we belong, and though it seems as though time freezes back home, who is to say that our disappearances are harmless in ways we cannot yet comprehend?

Exactly.

I mean, it's entirely possible that they found a way without damaging the fabric of space/time, but, from my experience, it rarely does.

No, I very much doubt it's that simple. ... what kind of effects could it have, though? [He doesn't have much left back home, but he still has Kaylee, and as bitter as he feels toward his parents and some people in his old life, he certainly wouldn't wish harm on them.]

Weird radiation, soft spots between universes, being able to bend the laws of physics and science and get some really freaky results.

...We call 'em Fringe Events back home. Don't worry, though. The effects are usually more prevailant on the universe you get shoved into.

... you know, even after living on a gigantic turtle for some months, I still have to quell the urge to think "that's impossible". ... But could one such event bring us home...?

Possibly. I've not noticed anything to the level of what we experienced back home, and people seem to be acting as though this stuff is perfectly natural, so... I'm not even sure if this place is affected by them.

Yet.

Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed that we'll get lucky- but I won't count on it. There are so many of us here from so many different worlds, the odds of all of us getting to go home would be astronomical.
