[ Rey's expression looks worried and confused — there are the beginning of tears welling in her eyes, making them bright over the feed and threatening to spill over at the least provocation, and her lips tremble as she speaks to the residents of Keeliai. ]

I know I don't talk to all of you very often, and for that I'm regretful, but — has anyone in the Sky Sector, or elsewhere, seen Poe Dameron? He's... [ she blinks, attempting to control her emotions, but they're bubbling to the surface despite her best efforts. ] He's tall, dark-haired. Very personable, many of you here have spoken to him, I think.

Has he shown himself anywhere, in the last few days? Has he found a new place to live? [ That thought is dreadfully painful, that he would simply leave and abandon her without even telling her where he was going, but she'd almost rather have him be safe somewhere else on the turtle than have disappeared from it for good. ] If he has, or hasn't, tell me. I just want to know that he's alright.

It's possible he could have gone back. Would you like me to help you look for him?

He couldn't — [ she starts to say, and then stops and restarts again, stubbornly shaking her head. ] He couldn't have gone back. No, he must be somewhere in Keeliai, I think.

[ she ducks her head. ] I would appreciate any assistance you could give.

[Klaus frowns. He knows how this usually goes.]

It's possible. Do you know any of the places he liked to frequent? We can start there.

I know he was working to help restore the Midnight Hotel. [ That she and Ren had wrecked, so thoughtlessly. ] He also liked frequenting the Tea House that I worked at, but I haven't seen him there.

[Poe...]

[Aya had been witnessing another recent wave of disappearances and departures as of late. But this one...this one actually seemed to be causing her a notable amount of pain.]

You are...a close friend of his?

[ Rey recognizes Aya, and nods into the screen. ] I am, yes. He's...one of the only others from my world, here.

[ Besides Ren and the other members of the First Order, she doesn't say. ] Are you close to him, as well?

We shared an...amicable relationship. He was most interested in my flight capabilities.

[Because of course he was.]

I...I see. [ not really, because she's not had any experience with said capabilities, but. ]

Was he familiar enough with you that you might have had an idea where he went? Did he say anything to you?

[She was welcome to ask, if she ever had the desire to; Aya never took offense to questions about herself. They were always preferable to faulty assumptions.]

Unfortunately, our last conversation was...when we were not in our typical forms. I have not spoken to him since that time.

[Zatanna had spoken with the guy a handful of times. He seemed nice. Had his flusterable subjects, but also a quality sense of humor. She can always appreciate people like that.]

[ Rey's expression falters and grows even more panicked. ]

He's got to still be in Keeliai, somewhere. Haven't you seen him anyplace?

[Oops. Sorry, Rey, she didn't mean to panic you; disappearance were something she had become so used to, that she tended to assume announcements like these were made by those who had already accepted the truth.]

No, I haven't.

Does he usually wander off on his own? The turtle is pretty big; I'll bet there are places you haven't even thought to look yet.

[It was probably false hope, but better than no hope at all.]

He's been known to do so, he's just not been away from the house for this long a time, before.

[ she calms somewhat in the face of Zatanna's optimism, giving the camera a brief nod. ] You're right, there are places I haven't looked. I'll keep searching.

Do you have anywhere else you suggest that I search?

Uhh... [She didn't really know him well enough to accurately predict.] ...maybe some of the local bars?

[No offense was intended; she just knew that sometimes, people who had a habit of "disappearing" for a bit were just drunk.]

Unless he was the daring type who might have gone up to explore the Turtle's Head. It's a bit of a trip, but it can be a cool thing to do if you have the ability.

I haven't seen him in a couple of days. If Klaus hasn't seen him, and he hasn't been at police headquarters or the dojo...

[ What was worse was the circumstances that they just left. What if someone had kidnapped him? Everyone would just assume he'd gone home. ]

[ oh no, Bisi, that's a terrible option to think of. ~~Rey is currently running through all worst-case scenarios, anyway.~~ ]

Isn't it possible that he's been there and they've just overlooked him?

[ I mean, in terms of likeliest kidnapper... ]

It is possible he has made the journey home. [In her mind, that is a goal completed.] I suggest you seek comfort in your friends and allies.

He must still be here. He must. [ Rey shakes her head, obstinate as ever, despite the calm light-haired woman's explanation. ]

He is my friend and ally.

I cannot say for sure, but you must prepare yourself for the worst. [Though it is not precisely the worst in her mind if said friend lives.]

Then you need to find more.

[Oh... the idea of Poe Dameron's disappearance is surprisingly saddening. They'd only talked a little, but he'd given her good advice. Things she would have liked to thank him for.]

I'm sorry-- I only spoke to him once and... he wasn't quite himself at the time. But if you want some help looking... I'm probably not the best help you could find, but I do live in the Sky sector, so I know the area pretty well.

[ Rey cocks her head curiously. ] Wasn't himself?

Are you referring to when he was changed into a small furry creature? [ because yes, that was indeed fairly weird. ]

[Marinette nodded.]

Yeah. When I got here he was still like that. So I'm not sure I ever really saw him the way he normally was. But he was really nice to me, so if there's any way I can help, I'd like to.

As much as you don't wanna hear it, the predictability of how we got here means he's probably been sent back if you can't find him.

I take it that he's going back to something unpleasant?

[ Rey doesn't want to hear it, but enough people responding to her message have verified his suggestion as being a real one, and she lowers her head dejectedly. ]

No, [ she manages in a trembling voice, ] it's not that he meets something unpleasant where we're from. I will just miss him, here.

[ she should be used to this, to people leaving her, but it still stings all the same. ]

He might come back.

[Oh no. No no no nope. ]

I haven't seen him, no.

[ the realization is slowly weighing on her. ]

I'm beginning to think it's hopeless, the thought of finding him here.

[He lets out a soft sigh, rubbing the back of his head. ]

I'm sorry. It's always hard when it happens.

Dameron wouldn't move out on you. He is too nauseatingly chivalrous for that.

[ This is Kylo... trying to be nice. Or something. ]

[ there's nothing nauseating about Poe's chivalry, she wants to say, but that argument can be saved for a later date. (when they run out of other things to fight about.) ]

[ if there's anything she's discovered about Kylo Ren, it's that he doesn't lie to her, or sugarcoat truths. ]

[Unfortunately. It was so much easier to make people fall who had reason to feel betrayed. ]

[ Rey heaves a sigh; if he didn't leave of his own accord, it stings less, but the void is still there. she's not sure if she can come back to an empty house every day — it reminds her too strongly of Jakku. ]

I didn't want to believe that he's gone for good, but I'm beginning to think there couldn't be any other explanation.

Now it's just myself, here. [ she looks at him pointedly over the video feed; she's suspected that he's alone here as well, for a short while — wonders if it's true. are they the only ones left from their universe, in Keeliai? ]

[He can barely stifle his cringe at that look. It had been too much to hope he would keep being able to keep up the pretense. It had lasted longer than he could hope for.]

[Another moment of hesitation. He tells himself it isn’twhat haplendd in the hospital that makes him more inclined to trust. ]

Hux and Phasma are gone as well.

[ His words are cold comfort, as genuinely as they're meant; Rey is rather surprised that he tries at all. Kylo Ren isn't exactly a nurturer.

But then he appears to want to say something else, and despite his hesitation it comes out in a grating tone. Hux and Phasma are gone, as well. ]

So you're alone, in your home? [ this is a new development — the absence of his general and captain mean that he's without support as well, with none of the First Order to disapprove of what they've been doing with one another. ] For how long?

How do you know if someone is personable?

[ When they can be polite to Hyuuga despite wanting to cut his head off because he's a pain in the ass? ]

I...I think it means that they're good with other people.

[ not that she herself would know what that's like... ]
