[He had spent the better portion of the day wandering around the city. Ducking and diving between crowds of people, and doing his best to stay out of the spotlight - which was far harder than he'd like to admit being a 'foreigner' decked out in futuristic space armor.
Needless to say, after having spent a good few hours gathering intel and having a constant stream of people talking to him about what to expect while he was stuck here (among other things), being able to sit down was a small blessing in and of itself. Something that those watching the camera's feed might be able to pick up on, as the ODST carefully leaned back in his chair, and stared up at the cafe's ceiling with a lengthy sigh.]
"Can't say I'm pleased to be here, but it's an upgrade from magical books." [Then again, giant turtles aren't really swinging in the opposite direction. Something he knows, but he'll hold his tongue on that.]
"Would say I'm impressed by how you guys have this whole welcoming stuff down to a science, but I'm still trying to comprehend most of it. Even then, there's usually a lot more going on than what's on the complimentary pamphlet."
[It's then that his visor lowers towards the screen, and a tick of silence passes by, before he's shifting forwards to properly address those behind it.]
"So, straight to the point; is there anything around here that I should be wary of? Threats, dangers, etcetera."

[Hm.] Your place didn't intentionally take stuff from people, did it? Memories, abilities, items?

(Marie shakes her head before speaking as to give him a very slight warning.) To answer your question? I know that certain items wouldn't go with us and whenever I left - I generally just took the things I had with me when I first arrived and left the rest of it behind.
I'm sure certain things were all fine and good depending on what universe you came from, but other things were not.

Ah. Let me rephrase that, ma'am. I meant when you arrived from your original universe, did you discover something of importance was missing? I only ask to see if that's a common theme with stuff like this. [A pause, then, as he shifted back into his chair.] Although... maybe not.
Doesn't seem to be an issue here, at any rate.

Something of importance? You mean something like missing memories, that sort of thing?
(Marie frowns and gives his question some thought.) If you mean something important like that... I don't think that was the case when I showed up in that town. I don't think I was missing anything. Not anything that was important enough that I would notice, anyway.
The only thing I've noticed if that a lot of the time people don't ask to end up at these places, but even then...sometimes people were given the choice...at least where I was...
(She shakes her head.) No, it doesn't seem to be one here.
