[Today, Zatanna greets the Network with an unusually contemplative expression. Curious.]

Those of you who know me know that I tend to be way bigger on the magic than science stuff. Which is why...for those of you on the other side, I have a question. Mmm--no, not really a question, I guess. More like a...request? Kind of?

Basically, I was wondering how much anybody could tell me on electromagnetic energy or radiation or whatever you call it. Anything at all, but preferably if you've ever had any experience with it on a more...supernatural scale.

[So, really, she's not going completely to the ~~Dark~~ Science side just yet.]

Uh...hi, Bisi? [That wasn't supposed to be a question. Her bad.] So you found...a coin...that let you operate a warframe?

[A pause, letting that information sink in.]

I have no idea what that means.

For simplicity, it's a robot. I'm actually back at my house in the sky quarter right now, while using a public terminal at the college.

The coin gives me very lucid dreams - an important component of my communion with Mag.

The specific powers I manifest are actually modified by what warframe I am piloting. Mag converts my powers into manipulation of magnetism and electricity. Other warframes channel it differently.

[That actually helped some. Once she compared the 'warframe' to a robot, a clearer picture began to form in her mind. Even with mentioning lucid dreams being connected...she wasn't entirely sure how one could lucidly dream their control over a robot, but it certainly seemed supernatural enough to fall within her original query qualifications.]

[No, really. It was exactly the kind of thing that would've fit right in back home, among her fellow metas.]

So would you say that coin you found is kind of like the source of your power?

Oh, definitely not. It just makes possible what in my world required a tremendous amount of power and manufacturing capabilities millenia beyond what this world is capable of.

My power comes from when I was lost in the Void as a child. It's poison seeps from me if I'm not very careful. The Second Dream helps with that.

The Orokin made use of our powers by giving us warframes, and using us to fight a war of their own making.

Okay, so not a source...but it sounds to me like it's at least amplifying what you already have.

[Sorry, Bisi, your story would have her absolutely captivated any other time--and she would have to remember to ask more about it later--but she was a little too focused on that coin. Mainly because, if the amplification theory was true...then it really did sound like the artifact Bakura had given her.]

Any idea where it came from?

None. I found it buried in the wood sector. A dream led me to it.

Now that you inquire, I would be interested to know more about it's source. Perhaps someone knows something about it.

Yeah, I'd be pretty interested in hear that too.

It's certainly not like mine...

[And since the connection was secured anyway, she figured there was no harm; reaching off-screen, she pulled out an item wrapped in cloth. Taking great care not to touch it, even though she knew it wouldn't harm her, she unwrapped it just enough so that Bisi would be able to see: a white, carved claw that appeared to be made out of some kind of raw material.]

It is certainly unique. The chains seem to indicate that it might figuratively belong to an animal kept captive in some way. Perhaps something dangerous.

What does it let you do, and where did you get it?

A friend found it. Brought it to me, knowing that I usually know a thing or two about magic.

And so far as I can tell...it amplifies our powers. At the very least, I can tell you that everytime I touch it, I get this rush of energy flowing within me. It comes from the same place I get my magic from. It reacts to other magic artifacts, too.

What's the source of your power, if you don't mind me asking?

[She shook her head.]

No, I don't mind.

As far as I've ever been told...it's me. My blood. I was born with my powers, which I got from both my mom and my dad. Especially my dad.

So are you working on some kind of theory? About these objects?

It sounds like you're seeking out more data points.

Uh...if you mean information, then yeah.

And right now, my biggest theory about these things is that there are more of them out there. Which I won't know for certain until I talk to more people. Given how dangerous they could be, I kind of hope I'm wrong...but, at the same time, with my history with luck, I'm probably right.

I suppose they could be dangerous in the wrong hands but... if it's true that they merely enhance existing power, then it seems the main concern is just the existence of dangerous individuals more than anything, wouldn't it?

Both Kedan and Foreigner alike have caused trouble here.

[Yeah. She knows.]

You're half right.

Dangerous individuals, sure...but sometimes, even a non-dangerous person with a little too much power can be just as bad. I mean, imagine dealing with this crazy rush of power you haven't learned how to control or handle yet. It can be scary.

Yes. You can hurt someone. Maybe even someone you care about.

[ She knew this well. ]

[Likewise.]

That's why I want to be sure. Or as sure as I can be.

I...let's just say I learned from some mistakes I made when I was younger.

Has anyone else come forward with similar devices?

There has been once person. Sort of.

At least, that's what he said. As far as I know, it wasn't here. Not in the city, and not anywhere on the turtle. It was back on land. In a city called Valishaera.

This is someone you knew, or someone you've heard of?

Mmm...technically neither.

We met in person, but only by chance. And that was the one and only time we spoke.
