Does anyone mind me asking a couple of questions? It isn't something very personal, at least I don't think it would be for the most part, but okay...

Has anyone here ever met someone who is a different version of someone you know? If you have, what did you do? Try to be friends if you were in the past with the other version or did you just let things happen as they were going to?

(She definitely never saw that coming. She frowns at the rest of it, but even Marie would admit that it was probably the best course of action to take.)

I wasn't so sure what to make of it when I found out that they weren't the same. I suppose my luck will never be that good and it be the same person, but at least they seemed nice enough, enough like the people I knew but they seem younger and not one thing I remember matches up...

(Feel free to ask questions, Marie knows she's struggling a bit to put her thoughts together.)

Cautious? (She is quiet for a moment.) Yeah, I have to agree that I should be. (She's been more cautious than she had been in a long while since she had arrived here.) No, that makes sense to me... and besides, I don't really want to elbow my way into whatever relationship they have here.

I suppose it does, but I've been told I have a habit of just doing what I want to do anyway. (A very slight attempt at a grin.)

Does this person remember a different version of you, as well?

Yes. Many times. Got some great stories out of it. Give or take, we were always all cool with each other, too. Except when they kept expecting me to be older and I wasn't. Didn't like that part so much. But meeting a much older version of my ex was probably the best. We dressed up for Christmas together once and had the best time.

It does sound a bit like an alternate... or at least, a parallel reality. But then, given the place in which we find ourselves on this turtle, I'm really not sure anything can be so scientifically explained anymore!

Well, I'm not exactly sure what to exactly describe it. They seem younger, I suppose and I suppose their experiences are different. I can't say if that means their souls are different...

Maybe different experiences, but...I can't say for sure yet.

If you want to hear a secret, I don't really get it either. I don't know anything about souls for starters.

You sound like someone I know, just a little bit...he'd say the same thing and yeah, you are right and it's not pleasant at all. I suppose I'll just have to go my own way and whatever happens is going to happen anyway.
