Hello. Hi. The handsets seem to be nicer now. I think I'd still just to have it programmed to run through my phone. Tony-
Is Tony still here? He worked on it last time.
[ That was a thing that happened, right? People left. And some came back, apparently. ]
Are other people here? That I know?
Right! This is Sonja. Maybe some people remember me. I probably sound different, it's been- [ How long has it been? It's not like... the memories are super clear. She had thought this was a dream, maybe. A dream that had been forgotten. ]

It's just a matter of connecting it to the network and programming it like a handset to accept network data and allow it to create encrypted connections.
Mostly just so I don't have to carry around a second device.

No.
Simply enough it's a lot like the handsets, but better.

I'm new myself, my name is Elizabeth. It's nice to meet you, Sonja.

He used to run a lab before the Metalworkers took it.
Nice to meet you, Elizabeth. How long have you been? How are you adjusting.
I didn't adjust very well last time I was here.

I only arrived a few weeks ago actually. It's been... really quite an adventure so far. Just like the sort I've always read about!
You didn't? May I ask why not?

I don't think I had the right attitude about it. Now that I have a better idea of how it, you know, *works*, I think that it can be a good thing. A good experience.

I think we've all felt that way at some point.
I'm glad that you feel that way, though. A lot of people can't look at themselves like that and deny the parts about themselves that they don't like.

Different. I don't know exactly when it was that I was originally here, the memories are a little blurry. But it's been a few years at least.

We're not losing time back home, so sticking around here for a while is okay with me.

Apparently it's difficult to escape this place for good. How lovely to see you again, my dear.
[That might be sincere? Maybe?]

[ That's weird, what happened to that intense feeling she felt before? Was it just a childhood Crush she grew out of? ]
Thank you! [ Did she mean that? Sonja didn't remember exactly making the best impression on China. ]

You don't seem to be having much trouble reacclimating. Finding things as you left them, then?

No Anton, the Hotel is completely different... I think I'll probably try to get a place in the sky quarter, I guess. I might be picking up a job at the Shelter, although I might need to do other things too.
...so you with Anton gone, are you... taking apprentices? For Runes?

[Somehow she doesn't sound too torn up about it.]
I've been doing a little teaching of sigilwork, here and there. Someone needs to take on the mess Shudder's left, after all.
