How'd you have programmed it to do that?

It's not difficult. Most smartphones are already equipped to pick up radio signals. Cellular information is just a certain type of frequency, already.

It's just a matter of connecting it to the network and programming it like a handset to accept network data and allow it to create encrypted connections.

Mostly just so I don't have to carry around a second device.

I don't think I had the right attitude about it. Now that I have a better idea of how it, you know, *works*, I think that it can be a good thing. A good experience.

I'm glad that you feel that way, though. A lot of people can't look at themselves like that and deny the parts about themselves that they don't like.

Depends on how similar yours is to Earth phones. Personally, the local phones are better 'cause you don't need to keep charging 'em.

That's definitely a compelling argument for keeping both devices on hand, but the handsets don't have any of my apps.

Different. I don't know exactly when it was that I was originally here, the memories are a little blurry. But it's been a few years at least.

I've gotten used to it. I like home a lot better, but... I like it here too. There's a lot here that I don't want to leave behind. [He'll have to, eventually, just like the rest of the Foreigners, but he's not looking forward to it.]

We're not losing time back home, so sticking around here for a while is okay with me.

No Anton, the Hotel is completely different... I think I'll probably try to get a place in the sky quarter, I guess. I might be picking up a job at the Shelter, although I might need to do other things too.
