001 :: Video/Action | Valentine's Day
[The video switches on to the sight of a pretty man with an eyepatch and a mop of blond hair, grinning and waving back at the camera. He's wearing what looks like a slim black kedanese suit, which shows off just how skinny he is, and... yes. That's a frilly pink apron over the suit.]
Hello everyone!
[His voice is light and high, his tone cheerful and friendly.]
I suppose I should introduce myself, shouldn't I? My name is Fai. I'm new to this world--it's nice to meet everyone! Well, sort of. [He laughs] It looks like I'm going to be helping in the kitchen at the Midnight Hotel for a while, and a little bird told me today is Valentine's Day. We didn't have Valentine's Day where I'm from, but my companions and I learned about it during our travels and I rather like the idea. So~~
[He turns the handset toward the room behind him--it's the kitchen of the Midnight Hotel, and it's absolutely full of treats. Chocolate cakes, heart-shaped chocolates, cake pops... you name it, Fai's probably made it, and everything looks professionally-made and delicious. He starts speaking again without moving the camera back to himself.]
My chocolate fondant was quite a hit a few worlds ago, so I thought I'd see what I could whip up. But.... As you can see, I may have gone a little overboard. So if anyone out there needs a treat for a friend or a co-worker, or a sweetheart or a ~potential sweetheart~, please stop by! I'm not charging much, so everyone can afford what they'd like. And if you're nice I might take special requests~
((ooc: Please feel free to toss an action thing at me and have someone stop by in person :3 ))

action
That was what the witch had said about the holiday.
Kurogane makes his way to the kitchen, arms crossed over his chest as he warily eyes all of the sweets.]
A little overboard? You didn't even make this much in Outo.
action;
Well, I didn't have anyone to keep me company this time, so I suppose I sort of threw myself into it.
[He leans forward to rest his elbows on the counter between them grins at Kurogane.]
Did you enjoy your pancakes, Kurgie?
action;
You mean you didn't have company to distract you because I'd hate to see what you'd do with another pair of hands or more helping out.
[There was no Mokona to pour alcohol, no Sakura or Syaoran to teach. Just going to move to lean against a counter. Out of the way.]
They weren't horrible. [Meaning: he liked them.]
no subject
Fine, fine. I didn't have anyone distracting me. But I'll take those kinds of distractions any day, thank you.
[He smiles a little wider at Kurogane's assessment of his pancakes, then reaches over to poke one long finger at the ninja's chest.]
Still hungry? I have time for a breather, I can make you something else if you like.
no subject
I'm sure that even if the others don't show up you'll have drawn in a few kids with all of this.
[He grunts at the poke and critically eyes the spread.]
Do you have anything not drowning in sugar?

You've been to other worlds?
no subject
Mm, that's right. I've lost track of how many at this point, but it's been quite a few.

[She was clearly looking for a scientific explanation here. Not necessarily one she might be able to use for herself--she was actually pretty content living in Keelai after so long--but for curiosity's sake.]

Hello there! Chocolate fondant are adorable little cakes--here, let me show you.
[He makes his way over to a particular section of counter, with a large tray covered in these.]
There's melted chocolate in the middle. They're quite good, if I do say so myself~
no subject
It stays melted?
[On one hand, it's not hard to amaze Yorda. The hours she spent playing with a paperclip was testament to that. On the other, chocolate is a wonderful thing.]
no subject
It does! Like so--
[Fai manages to scrounge up a fork and digs it into the side of one of the cakes, sending oozing chocolate pooling onto the plate around it.]

Besides, it'd be a nice gift for Marinette all the same.]
I err, might buy some. If you have some spare.
no subject
I have more than enough, don't worry about that! Is there anything in particular you're looking for?
no subject
[Help him, he's never done this in his life before. ]
no subject
Oh Adrien, you're asking the wrong guy about that]That depends. Is this a friend we're talking about, or perhaps someone a little more special~?

Oh my god, did you bake every dessert ever? [she asks by way of a greeting. Pepper sounds thrilled by the abundance of treats. She'd seen a lot on the network, but this was above and beyond.]
no subject
Oh, I'm sure it's not every dessert ever. I've run across some I couldn't even name, let alone attempt to make. But I did get a bit carried away, now that you mention it~
no subject
This is definitely a good kind of carried away. I'm Pepper, it's nice to meet you. [She offers to shake his hand.] I guess you like to bake, huh?
no subject
I'm glad you like it~! It's very nice to meet you as well, Pepper; I'm Fai.
[After the handshake he pulls his hand back and replaces it on his hip.]
I do. It's a good way to support my companions while we're travelling, and I find it relaxing. Would you like something?

action; backdated to Valentine's Day
He arrives in the kitchen of the Midnight Hotel and surveys the spread, looking impressed.]
Nice apron. Did you really make all of this yourself?
no subject
Ah, thank you! I'm rather fond of it myself.
[He looks around the room and nods.]
It's my first day on the job, I thought it might be a good idea to impress the boss. Would you like something?
no subject
I definitely want something. [He leans down to peer at what looks like lava cakes. Just like from Domino's! Except better, probably!] Getting Earth-style desserts from kedan confectioners can be tough. This all looks awesome. Gene and Pepper will love it.
[Bakura won't be weird if Tony gets Valentine's Day goodies for Pepper, will he? Nah, probably not. He doesn't seem like he cares about stuff like that.
(And Tony has Friend Seniority anyway, so Bakura can just deal.)]
no subject
[Fai leans forward to rest his elbows on the counter in front of him and his chin in his hands.] 'Earth'? Is that the world you come from? [They're totally better than Domino's, Tony. You know you want them.] Take whatever you'd like, I can always make more. I'm not quite used to the system of currency in this world, so whatever you think is fair would be fine~
