I need the professional opinion of a botanist and chemist well versed in the elements and compounds of this world.

[ Unfortunately his knowledge just doesn't cover it. For the moment. ]

Meet me at the university lab.

{ Private to Valdis }
I need to show you something. Can you be at the University lab within the hour?

[action]
[ Sherlock just fixes the boy with a look as he stands up straight. It was like he could see what he was looking at from his seat. ]
Did you need something?
[ He asks, tone a bit clipped. ]
Re: [action]
[He knew it bothered Sherlock when he played the cute little kid card. That's the reason he was doing it now. ]
[action]
Nothing that concerns you.
[ He states dismissively. The exact wrong thing to tell a detective, he knows but what else could he say? The truth would only prompt more questions. ]
Re: [action]
[Bad move, Sherlock. ]
[action]
Do you have degree in either of the three subjects: Chemistry, Botany or Biology?
No? Pity.
Re: [action]
[action]
I've been working on this at the lab for a reason.
[ Though Conan is unlikely to let it go. He lets out a sigh and backs away from the microscope. ]
Here, have a look, tell me what you see.
Re: [action]
And what reason is that?
[Clearly it being something that was none of his business wasn't a good enough reason. Conan climbs up on the chair and takes a look.]
[action]
[ He asks, watching Conan closely to see if he recognizes the clear DNA like structure some of those organism seem to have. ]
Re: [action]
My father taught me in Hawaii.
[action]
[ Because it was going to be a pain to explain it to him. ]
That is a sampling of the 'Red Dust'
[ He goes to the cooler to pull out a small syringe filled with something red. He uncaps the syringe once he close again and holds it out for the boy to take. ]
This is fish blood-it's all I've been able to test it on but the results are interesting enough. Add it a little to the dust.
Re: [action]
Why fish blood?
[But he takes the syringe and expertly measures out a few drops on the slide. ]
Re: [action]
[ he answers dismissively. Sooner or later he'll have to find something new to test it on. ]
the next step is to test it on a cadaver once once one becomes available.
Re: [action]
Re: [action]
[ He waits while Conan watches the reaction-the DNA like structure trying to find some way to stabilize its self but eventually falling inert. ]
So, we have an unidentified organism inside the dust-or several organisms trying to stabilise. Your thoughts?
Re: [action]
"Mind giving me any of the details on this arrangement?"
He frowns as he reviews what he knew about parasites. It wasn't lot. Parasites were not particularly likely to be used in murders, so his studies there had been rather cursory.
"To survive, a parasite needs something that only a host can provide, correct? Have you determined what that is yet?"
