A fish is one thing, but it would really help if I had test subjects with the same basic physiology of the potential intended targets-being the kedan, humans, and otherwise.

For obvious reasons I can't use the real thing. Though-you did say that the foreigners return after death-how about the Kedan? Is there a morgue where corpses can be donated to science?

There is a morgue, I'm sure we can procure a body or two. But it is the changes in behavior that I am most concerned about.

I was never one to indulge in the idea of a zombie apocalypse. With the host dead there should be no way for the parasite to continue living as well.

[ Key word being "Should." Which is why precautions are going to be needed. ]

I'll let you know if I find anything else. Since it can't stabilize, it's unlikely to do much when introduced to a corpse.

The short answer? When introduced to an organic substance it tries to piece itself together-the organisms collecting together in what I believe is an attempt to form a larger organism.

However, it can't and after several tries falls inert. That's why the red Dust has such a shorter life span.
