[Despite the fact that the temperature inside the Welcome Center was currently set to "inside a freezer in the arctic", Zatanna appeared on screen in a light tank top and sunglasses. Clearly feeling the spirit of the heatwave, even if her spirit boyfriend might not have been...]
It has been brought to my attention that I've been working too much and need to be more spontaneous.
So that's what I'm going to do.
Starting later this afternoon, I've decided to take a spontaneous vacation. Just for a couple days, of course--I'm not that irresponsible. Don't know exactly where I'm going, don't know what time this weekend I'll be back. But I wanted to at least give you all a heads up in case there was something you needed first. I'll have maps and the latest updated pamphlets on the counter. The doors to the main area will stay unlocked, and the Wards I have up will take care of the rest.
Otherwise, speak now, because I can't exactly lug the network console with me to the beach.

[The 'weird gem thing' he tends to hide inside the wrist cuff of his suit. That would identify him pretty much instantly, otherwise. ]
Hm. Especially if the people running the guilds are keeping tight lipped about things.
Video;
That depends on the Guild. I mean, I have a pretty good relationship going with the Merchant's Guild. They're still funding the Welcome Center, after all, so that's kind of a big one.
Even then, it's not so much about that as it is their attitude towards us. I've tried to explain that Foreigners are so different and not used to the way things run in Keelai--heck, I've been here for over five years, and there are still some things I'm not used to--but they get impatient all the same. They think we don't take certain things seriously because of our attitude towards it.
Video;
And it's not that we don't take it seriously at all- it's that we don't understand it. I mean, heck, most cultures on Earth would struggle to meld together well, let alone when you bring a whole other world into the mix, too.
Video;
[And it was safe to assume any Foreigner from Earth would know that too.]
I think it goes back to how long it took for us to pick a representative. They took the delay as a sign of apathy or something. But, hopefully, we've managed to prove to them that taking our time just means wanting to do it right.

I mean...I do think things will get better. Compared to some of what we've had to deal with in the past, this is almost nothing.

[She left it at that, but was always willing to talk about it if someone asked. Not because she enjoyed talking about it, but because she'd learned from experience what happened when one withheld information. And, as one of the co-runners of the Welcome Center, it was kind of her job to provide as much information about this world as she could.]
