So I've been thinking of maybe setting up my telescope one of these days. You know, before the weather does something else weird. Anyone interested in trying to make an astronomy night of it?
[Have a look of confusion at that. Not at the concept of a schoolbus, per say--it was not difficult to assume its purpose through the compound word itself--but at its context within their current conversation.]
I am certain there is no schoolbus in Keelai, either. The youth who travel to school do so independently.
Ah, that was a joke? An attempted joke, maybe. See the schoolbuses back home are really slow because they have to pick up so many kids and take the long way around on the route.
My apologies. I was not aware you had shifted the topic to something from your world. Although I am curious as to why this schoolbus would deliberately take a longer route when its purpose is to bring kids to a singular location.
It was kind of the first thing I thought of when we were talking about public transportation. Only its not really public, but its kind of similar? I mean, there are public buses back home, but I've never gone on it.
...Because that's how the routes are laid out? I mean, they have to go all over the city to pick everyone up.
That...does not necessarily sound like the most efficient method.
But I suppose it is still serving its purpose and would be considered more acceptable under those circumstances. Despite the increase in travel time for those who are first gathered.
