[A messy-haired teenage boy is eyeing the computer with an expression somewhere between dubious, irritated, and relieved] One minute I’m falling to Tartarus, the next I’m stuck on a giant turtle and surrounded by water. I’m pretty sure that no one can blame me for thinking that sounds too good to be true.
We are on a giant turtle, right? Like, I didn’t hit my head and hallucinate that or anything, there’s definitely a turtle with a whole city happening on its back and everything? Has anyone tried talking to it yet? Because I could really use an answer that isn’t ‘ask the Emperor’ right now.
[He glances down at his hands and falls silent for a moment. One of them shows signs of the skin being ripped and torn, but it’s the other one he seems to be focussing on. He clenches his hand fruitlessly for a second, before glancing back up at the camera] Uh. I’m Percy, by the way. I’m looking for a girl called Annabeth Chase. She’s tall, has curly blonde hair, and a bad attitude. If you tell her I’m looking for her, she’ll probably start badmouthing me. Or – Frank, Hazel, Nico, Leo, Piper. Jason, even. If you’re here, get in touch.

But it's not as if he can keep running, and he told himself not to run from his problems again anyway. So he puts on a smile to mask away the guilt and puts in a response]
Hey, man! Welcome to the giant turtle! Is Annabeth done killing you yet?

[And then there's a pause because the memory of falling into Tartarus isn't one of his best, and his own guilt about what happened isn't something he enjoys revisiting. He scrubs a hand back through his hair, messing it up even more] What's the last thing you remember?

We were sailing the Argo II to Greece before I woke up here.
[and in a slightly more cheerful voice] Though I'd say trapping us on top of a giant turtle is a step up in Gaia's creativity department.

[eep, so awkward! must make light of the whole situation like an a+ winner...!]
Aren't you glad to hear that someone has already faced her wrath before you?

[He takes a moment to pause and gather his thoughts properly before replying. He doesn't know Leo all that well, but he likes the guy] You all got out all right, then? No one else was dragged in after?

[a short pause as he realizes something] Though you did come in shortly after I did. Think there's a connection?

When Annabeth's been here on her own for six months? I don't know. But we're demigods, I dunno that I believe in coincidences anymore.

[short, super awkward pause] In case you were wondering, Nico said you and Annabeth were still alive. So congratulations on not dying, I guess?

[He manages a grin] Nice to hear good news for once. Congratulations on not dying yourself.
Video 1/2;

So his face turns a bit serious, and it almost looks as if he's talking to himself when he utters his next words.]
Don't worry; I'm going to set things right.

But then he frowns. There's something in the way Leo's talking that doesn't sit right with him] Hey, you know it wasn't your fault, right? It was Arachne and Gaea and bad luck. [He tries for a grin and mostly succeeds] Besides, someone had to shut the door from the Tartarus side, right? Annabeth and I've been doing this sort of thing since we were twelve, we were the best candidates. [Actually Percy would have preferred Annabeth not be involved at all, but there's a selfish part of him that's glad it's her. He's pretty sure he couldn't survive the depths of hell with anyone else]

Yeah she was! She threw me into fires and thought that knives were good toys for a little kid--which is kind of weird because you'd think she'd let me play with hammers instead, being a son of Hephaestus and all--but yeah, fun times!
