[Donnie flicks the video on in the late morning. He's wearing pajamas while a cafe is visible in the background. He frowns.]

Is there a doctor or a therapist here? I'm almost out of my medication and sometimes I see things when I'm not on them and I think it would be better if I could get more. I don't really know where to look to get the same thing I had back home because I don't know a lot about the pills except what they look like and what they're supposed to do and I don't even know if that's true because Dr Thurman could have been lying and it's not like my dad would know. He couldn't even remember her name.

I guess I don't really have to take the same thing. I sleepwalk a lot if I'm not taking them though and I wake up in weird places and that wasn't such a big deal in Middlesex because I knew where everything was and most people knew about my problem so they usually just woke me up and let me go home, but I don't think they'll be that nice about it here because it seems like they don't really like people that aren't Kedan.

[He sighs a little.]

I am a doctor but I -- know very little about the sort of thing you are describing. If you wish to have someone to talk to, I might be able to help.

Okay. Yeah, that would be cool. I used to have an appointment like once or twice a week to talk to my own therapist, just for an hour. Maybe we could have something like that.

I'm neither of those things, unfortunately, but I do own a company that dabbles in pharmaceuticals. One of my chemists might be able to cobble something together if we can figure out which sort of pill you were on, exactly?

Locals, mostly. None as up-to-date or advanced as one from Earth would otherwise be. Unfortunately, Dr. Shearing is no longer among us. But her notes have been quite invaluable, and quite extensive.

Who's Dr. Shearing? [...] But that's cool! I mean, yeah, if you could help me, that would be great. I don't really mind the voices sometimes, but other people think it's weird and I don't really want to get in trouble, you know?

I don't mind it so much, but other people usually think it's weird. I mean, it's nice not to be alone, but sometimes they make me do things that the school doesn't really like.

I don't think anyone who's been to this place has a right to say what's "weird" or not, right?

It's like.. this water that comes out of peoples' chests. It showed me where they would be going. Everyone always followed the path. I followed my own path once, and I stuck my face into my sister's. Sometimes I could see more of the future, but mostly I just saw those.
