[Mera looks less than pleased as she stands in front of the terminal, arms folded over her chest. It's probably about time she spoke to people herself but she's not happy about it. Gotta try to be less grouchy than Arthur though]

I really do not appreciate being plucked out of the sea like some kind of fish. I don't appreciate being tossed into a cart after being plucked from the sea either. I'm not a trout waiting to be sold in a market. [She's really just complaining because this is weird. Better to complain than to seem lost]

Did if ever occur to anyone that I might be happier in the sea? No, of course not. Why would you ask someone if they would rather stay in the water than be brought up onto land.

[She lets out a calming breath, pinching the bridge of her nose]

I'm sorry. Being irritated really won't help anything and it's not the point right now anyway. What I want to know is how many people here are familiar with Atlantis, have heard of it or are even from there? I know my husband has already spoken to some of you but I want to speak to you myself. It's not all that important but I'm curious. [She considers asking about the Justice League too but she knows that some of Arthur's "friends" are rather secretive. That might not be received well]

Canals. Yes I can see how that would get boring after a while. I was placed in the...Water Sector, I think it was called? So that's something. [Another small smile] No, I don't. That's my husband. I'll be sure to let him know, not that he's likely to listen.

Most people I've talked to seem to know it as just a legend. I'm used to that.

Yeah, me too. I've been exploring, but it's not really an ocean water kind of place. [Percy makes a bit of a face] I might've told that to him, but I didn't know if I came in under that whole 'people he wants to talk to' rule.

That's kind of what it's like back home for me. Not where I live or anything, but family members.

It's hard to replace the ocean. [And then she laughs because oh Arthur] I'm sure he wouldn't have minded if you had contacted him. Arthur is a lot less unfriendly than he makes himself out to be.

[He doesn't say anything to that first comment, but there's an expression on his face that reads almost like relief; someone else gets that. And then he grins] It doesn't look like that'd be too hard, to be honest.

Uh, twenty-first century New York. It's not the place that's unbelievable just...I've got a pretty weird family. My dad's the God of the Sea. [He shakes his head]] Nah, it's fine. I can't really talk about it back home without looking like a crazy person, it's kind of nice to be open about it here.

[She understands and then some] He's just a little grumpy sometimes, that's all.

Poseidon? I have a friend who was made from clay and regularly interacts with the Greek Gods. Saying that your father is Poseidon doesn't sound crazy to me at all. In fact, in comparison to some of the other things I've been told in my life, it's actually quite normal.

[Arthur passes behind Mera for a moment, a small table under his arm. They're still moving stuff around.] Less than a week and you're already ruining my reputation, Mera.

I've met Poseidon. Not the most pleasant to deal with but better than Triton. [You're in good company, Percy. And now he's out of the picture to go set the table down somewhere.]

You should be used to it, darling. [You love her]

[He looks startled at this revelation] Whoa, really? I mean - where I'm from, most demigods don't get to interact regularly with the Gods. I've probably seen them more than anyone in the last five years or so, and that's just because they're usually trying to figure out if they should kill me or not.

Ah, well, I'm not sure what Diana's standing with her Gods is at any given time but yes. And my husband has met Poseidon. So you won't hear me treating you like you're crazy. Actually, the section of Atlantis we're from is named after Poseidon.
