001; Audio - The one where Mike tries to make sense of this.

[Mike knows the rules, and he knows them by heart: When you're in a new place, and you aren't sure of your surroundings, you stay hidden to stay safe. Someone will come and find you. So when the kedan deliver him to his suite, Michaelangelo stays there.

It's only after he's lowered all the shades, explored the suite from top to bottom, and booby-trapped the front door with common household items, that Mike turns his attention to the communication console. Mike's access and familiarity with all things computer has been limited at best, with the bulk of his exposure coming in the form of play-testing what ever new video game Donatello had been coding. So it comes as more than a little bit of a shock to him that the console is as easy for him to work as the skim-milk blue guy with a similar number of fingers on his hands said it would be.

It doesn't matter that he's not home, or that the people who found him aren't quite human, or even that anyone who saw him on this vidscreen thing could easily just assume he was some sort of special effect added in post production.]

I'm just looking for my brothers. There was a light from some sort of machine. They started to disappear without me. I just. I just want to find them.

Leo? Donnie? Raph? Please tell me you're out there. Please?

Hey. Your brothers wouldn't happen to be big turtle guys, would they? Because if they are, I've met two of them.

[There is a green face on his screen now.

Well, if they are and if they haven't contacted you already, I'm pretty sure they will soon. They should be around somewhere.

[Mike is more green and just kind of...staring, still.]

[He blinks a couple of times, before he too begins to smile.]

Hi. Just...call me Mike.

Are you doing okay so far in this weird city?

[Mike looks around his room, which is dark due to all the windows being covered and all the lights being off.]

Define okay.

No injuries, minimal freaking out, not being attacked by anything? [He shrugs.]

[He shrugs in return]

I'm no more or less hurt than I was before I got here, so...that's kind of like a silver lining, right?

As for freaking out...I just kind of hope my brothers are okay.

[Specifically Raph. An unhappy Raph is...never a good thing. Ever.]

[He nods.] Yeah, I'd say it's a decent silver lining.

I'm sure they're okay.

I hope so. I mean, I'm barely keeping this,

[He gestures to himself with a green three-fingered hand.]

...together. And I'm a pretty chill guy usually.

I think most of us had the same reaction when we ended up stuck here. It goes away after a little while.

What you're saying is...you just get used to being here, right?

Right. I was a bit freaked out when I ended up here too but it passes.

[That gets Victor frowning.] None that anyone's found yet. Sorry.

Well then. I guess that just means we'll have to keep looking.

[We are GO for overcompensating optimism, red leader.]

[Vic smiles.]

I don't think we've stopped looking. And we'll keep it up.

So, need any help settling in?

[For a brief moment he looks a bit lost about the eyes.]

I don't know. I've never really been, you know, on my own before.

[Victor offers a sympathetic smile.]

I know that feeling. But don't worry, if you need any help, just ask and someone will be happy to help out.

[There's so much hope in that question, because...well, Mike has always assumed the best of people. Usually he's mocked for it, so he's kind of surprised to have his background notions supported by a completely stranger.]

I do, Mike. Sure, there are some jerks out there but most of us are pretty nice people. A handful of us are mutants too.

Well that's one heck of a change from home. Normally, I'm just lucky of they only scream when they see me.

I've said before and I'll say it again. Sometimes it just isn't easy being green.
