So for now, she only has a couple of immediate concerns.]

I've got two questions for the people here.

One, has anybody here heard of the B.P.R.D.?

Two, does anyone know where I can get a damn cigarette? [Falling back on old habits under stress? You bet.]

...Actually I haven't heard much about it lately. There was a kidnapping again I think but everyone ended up okay.

And people are just letting that happen?

Oi, I would have done something about it, but I didn't even know it happened until way later!

And what about law enforcement? Do you know if they're doing much to take care of these gangs? [Gang violence isn't what Liz works with, but the kedan clearly aren't human, so that puts them under the monster radar. The fact that they're violent towards the new arrivals is even more reason for her to be on guard.]

They did at the festival, but I dunno if they've done anything since! That guy totally slaughtered the ones who caught the two girls, but he didn't even care about them! So I wouldn't be surprised if they just stopped caring about us.

So the people in charge can't be trusted, either. Good to know. [Not that she trusted them to begin with.]

As long as we actually try to look out for each other, we can probably avoid having that happen. [Is death always a risk? Yes. Can it always be avoided? No. But that doesn't mean it's pointless to try and keep everybody safe.]
