[ The video starts with a man looking curiously at the screen. He has dark hair and a faint dusting of stubble on his skin, as though in a few hours’ time he may want to find a razor and have himself a shave.

It may be obvious from the way he’s inspecting the console that he isn’t completely at a loss around technology like this. He isn’t exactly familiar with it, but he’s clearly used a computer or something like it once or twice before. Enough that he isn’t fumbling with it or looking at it as though it’s some kind of mystical portal into another world.

It’s also possible that, prior to his turning it on, one of the kedan who showed him to his apartment explained it to him. ]

Hello. [ He pauses just for a moment, then continues. ] I am Castiel.

[ There’s an odd quality to his voice, deep and slightly rough around the edges, as though it’s still rather new and he hasn’t quite mastered it yet. ]

The kedan who summoned me told me that I’m here to help, but they… [ A slight pause, the corner of his mouth pulling into a tiny frown. ] …neglected to provide the details I require to do that. If anyone can share that information with me, I would appreciate it.

[She was out of her costume for the moment, face freshly scrubbed and hair weighed down from the water of a recent shower. There was no smile on her face, but her eyes shone with a wary curiosity at this latest stranger. Who didn't talk like most adults she knew.]

They don't tell anybody much of anything.

[ His lips twist into a more pronounced frown at the news. It sounds familiar, but that doesn't make it less frustrating. ]

Then how do they expect us to be effective?

I don't know.

[A shrug followed. Normally, it wasn't like Midii to accept a lack of knowing so readily...but there was a small comfort in knowing most other Foreigners seemed to be as in the dark as she was.]

Then again, since I was brought here, the most trouble I've seen seems to be caused by other Foreigners. There was talk a little while ago of...something [who must not be named], but things have been quiet since.

[ Subtlety and Castiel tends to be a crapshoot. Today, it's lost on him. ]

[ His eyes narrow slightly, head tipping just a fraction of an inch to the side. ]

[That's an interesting name, but Willow can't really say anything about that given her friend group. Instead, she's her usual relatively perky, helpful self, though there's a strained edge to it.]

Someone did a radio transmission a while ago that sums things up. That's probably quicker than me playing twenty questions with you.

[ Oh, excellent! Castiel knows what a radio is. He turns away from the screen, looking for it. Of course, he doesn't actually find one and ends up looking back at her, vaguely perplexed. ]

If you tell me where the radio is located, and the date and time the transmission occurred, I will go listen to it.

[Wow Booker is glad someone is as confused as he is about what they're all doing here! This isn't like any war or battle he's ever seen, that's for sure.]

[It would be much more easy to hide away from all of this. If anything, this is the very last being he wants to see right now. Castiel had left abruptly from here after an equally awkward conversation and then he is suddenly here again.

The awkward cannot even begin to touch the whole backstabbing literally that took place. For a moment, the sudden anger keeps him quiet. When he finally appears on the screen, the one word he utters is short and tense.]

Cas.

[ There are many faces that he is not expecting to see. Those of the angels with whom he’s familiar. His human allies. His enemies. And especially those who have died in the battles that have ensued since the opening of Lucifer’s cage.

Even in a vessel, Castiel would recognize Balthazar, and he’s seen this one often enough that he could never forget it. Seeing him now, hearing his voice and knowing, knowing that it isn’t a trick makes him stiffen, wipes his expression clean before the confusion, uncertainty, guilt, and grief come rushing in. ]

Balthazar.

[ What does he say to the old friend he betrayed? Castiel doesn’t know. At the time, he’d felt as though he had been the one betrayed, but his mind is clear now and he knows that he was at fault there. Not Balthazar. He’d only been doing the right thing. ]

I… [ There aren’t words enough for the apology he owes him and Castiel expects no forgiveness, but not expressing his remorse isn’t possible. There are so many questions – how is he here and how was he brought back to life being the two most pressing - but the apology must come first. ] I am sorry.

Apology accepted! Well..I'm sure that's what you would want me to say, right?

[There are just so many words he would love to color this conversation with, but what would the point of that be? Sure he would feel better on some superficial level. He shook his head. The look he wears on his face is of the utmost confusion.]

If only apologies reversed a backstabbing. A shame for you that they don't.

[The sarcasm is strong. Very strong. Palpable even. Castiel from before had been tense enough. He really does not want to deal with this over again. There is something odd about this. His message to all here sounded as if he had never been here before. He never really asked anybody if others come and go in a rinse and repeat fashion. He would prefer for that not to be true, but when has his luck ever been positive for him?]

[ The greeting takes him by surprise and he blinks, before twisting to glance behind himself, half-convinced someone has stepped up behind him without his knowledge and it’s this individual the woman’s talking to. Not him. As far as he can remember, and he remembers a great deal, he has never her before in his incredibly long life.

Perplexed, he turns back to face the computer. ]

And tells her that he's come back without the memories from before.]

[ This is getting stranger and stranger. Two angels, both deceased, are here. He has met no one else that he knows, though evidently one woman remembers him. Quite clearly, he remembers the blade Metatron drug across his throat. Now, he wonders if perhaps the other angel hadn’t finished the job. ]
