I know I'm not the only who went through that. [And honestly she's so tired of 'going through' things. But there's a breath.]

Guess I feel like there's pieces of me back there. Did anyone else forget someone important to them?

[Because as much as she's upset over what happened, what happened to her back home, and just her entire familial situation, losing her mother as in actually losing her made her feel even more isolated and alone. Abigail isn't one for reaching out. She barely speaks to the people who know her situation, but she'd rather not feel alone in this.]

[So, hey. For anyone who was sorely missing the blond zombie-killer, here she is. The video feed is on and at first, she doesn't seem to really notice. She isn't looking directly at it, just sort off off and to the side. Not really focusing on anything. Her head is tilted slightly as if she's listening to something.

When she speaks, she clearly knows the device is on but the fact that she's still not looking directly at it is probably a sure sign that something is very

very

wrong.]

So, uh...

[She pauses, scratching just above her ear as she displays uncertainty. There's something bothering her. She'd set these next messages to private but that requires something she can't do at present.]

Someone helped me out the other day. I think is name was Kyle? I'm pretty sure that's it. If it's not, I really am sorry. That was a very weird day and I don't think I was paying much attention to anything.

But, uh...you know who you are and you were a big help, so thank you.

[One message down. A few more to go.]

Iorveth, we may have to continue putting archery lessons on hold.

[She's not mentioning why, but she's sure he can guess.]

I'm sure this won't last much longer, so just keep a spot open for me, okay?

[Okay. Now this is getting difficult. She may actually have to say what's wrong.]

Jack. Korra. I might not be able to come into work for a while. I'm still having some issues from the recent....

[No, that won't work. She almost continues being vague but...]

Fuck it. I can't see for shit. I don't know why or how long this is gonna last, but I'd still like to come to work. This sitting still thing is not in me to do. Can the three of us get together soon and try to figure out some kind of system for me to use so I can still help out at the counter and all?

Thanks.

[Seriously she's going to lose her god damn mind. And since Julie has nothing else to say, there's a brief smile on her face before she fumbles for the button to log off. It's eventually found and the feed ends.]

[Tony starts out sitting in front of the console. He's a little slow to start up what he wants to say-there's an awkward pause beforehand like he's just sizing them up through the video itself.]

So, I've been busy lately. And I've gotten a little distracted by other things, but-

[Something catches in his throat and cuts him off. Tony clears his throat and tries to look casual and calm. He's distracted and maybe in need of some sleep, with his attention wandering from the feed, but he's not going to drop the flippant tone. Especially not now.]

But apparently there have been some strange disappearances lately, and those people might actually still be around.

[He seems to want to say more, but his heart isn't in it. Maybe he should be offering to try to help those semi-disappeared people. Probably. Unfortunately he can't make himself do that.]

That's not what I want to talk about. I need... [Don't finish that, Stark.]

I need someone who knows how to take care of flowers. Horticulture isn't my thing and I have some and I have to make sure they, they don't die, so if you have any advice, I could use it. That or animal counselors. I'm sure those exist out there somewhere.

[ The video starts with a man looking curiously at the screen. He has dark hair and a faint dusting of stubble on his skin, as though in a few hours’ time he may want to find a razor and have himself a shave.

It may be obvious from the way he’s inspecting the console that he isn’t completely at a loss around technology like this. He isn’t exactly familiar with it, but he’s clearly used a computer or something like it once or twice before. Enough that he isn’t fumbling with it or looking at it as though it’s some kind of mystical portal into another world.

It’s also possible that, prior to his turning it on, one of the kedan who showed him to his apartment explained it to him. ]

Hello. [ He pauses just for a moment, then continues. ] I am Castiel.

[ There’s an odd quality to his voice, deep and slightly rough around the edges, as though it’s still rather new and he hasn’t quite mastered it yet. ]

The kedan who summoned me told me that I’m here to help, but they… [ A slight pause, the corner of his mouth pulling into a tiny frown. ] …neglected to provide the details I require to do that. If anyone can share that information with me, I would appreciate it.

[Once again, an Amaterasu post begins with a round of barking. But this time she stops after seven seconds and moves to the side to let the camera pick up what's right behind her-- a painting on the wall. The colors are vivid and a little sparkly if you look at it at the right angle.

And then she speaks.]

Okay, so, has anyone tried to take apart the consoles? Here's a handy warning to the wise: DON'T.

There are some parts that might make sense from a mechanical standpoint, yeah, maybe, but mostly? It is filled with this nasty, creepy, goo and it floods out all over you and I might have screamed like a little girl.

[ Biting at his thumbnail here and he tilts his head to the side, looking a little freaked out because omfg what has just happened in his home, why is life on the turtle so weird. ]

Aaaaand now it's regrowing. This is some crazy sci fi shit and not in the hot aliens in latex kind of way. Like messed up Star Trek bordering on Alien kind of crap. Earth -- I'm not talking about the sector -- does the name hold any significance to you? I've been wondering how many people here come from a place called Earth and just how many Earths haven't had to face the Bugger Wars. From what I've seen of the guests, many appear human overall and some even with the same technological advancements and understanding that are prominent in my world. If we're trapped in this place between life, dreaming and death, then I suppose it wouldn't be impossible to dream of the existence of alternate Earths.

[ Ender forces a smile, but that's just what it is. Forced. He's really in no mood to showcase good cheer. ]

If it isn't asking too much, even if you don't come from some variation of Earth, I'd like to know about your world. Subsequently, I can tell you anything you wish to know about mine. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that we're being kept in the dark by the natives here. What they know and what they're planning doesn't concern me as much as our lack of understanding about the universes that surround us. I feel the better we understand one another, the more trust we can put in each other and the better equipped we become as a whole to any crisis that may arise. ... there we are.

[ /ahem. ]

While I understand completely the feeling of inherent laziness that no doubt consumes those of shofter life spans, ironically enough, it simply boggles the mind that so much time and effort goes into the process of skinning, slicing, and preserving simple fruits far more easily obtained from a tree.

I doubt this is even a real peach.

[ there's something to be said about all the added sugar, though. It's like peach soup. ]

What he wants is answers to the many and contradictory things he's been told since his arrival.]

I find myself at something of a loss, in this place, with so many people from such seemingly different times and places. It seems impossible that one person could have brought us here, and insensible that they should.

[That, though, is a subject he's sure has been at the center of many debates. What truly haunts him is what he heard from Peggy and Ariadne before.] I was led to believe that this place was a sort of afterlife, and yet, if I understand correctly, there are some here with ambitions to return to their homes. I do not see how such a thing could be accomplished.

[And that's it. No suggestions, he's just mulling. Aloud, and in public, which, he realizes now, is terribly unseemly.]

Forgive me. There is little purpose to these musings. Perhaps they are better off left unvoiced.

[The video opens on an uncommonly solemn-looking Lieuen, in a sombre state of dress that's unlike his usual pretentions. His skin, so modelled after the common Foreigner complexion, is a tiny bit sallow.]

Dear residents of Keeliai. It's with deep and considerable regret that I am the bearer of unfortunate tidings in regards to our fair city. You may have begun to notice that Tu Vishan's health has been... deteriorating, of late. This is certainly no cause for alarm! Things being what they are, it's tantamount to... say, a cold or flu that you Foreigners seem so susceptible to. We have every assurance that Tu Vishan will overcome this malady and return to its usual self soon.

But in the interest of not taking our grand turtle for granted, certain... shall we say, rules are going to be put into play effective now. The first and most importantly, of course, is rationing.

[There's a touch of distaste to his features as he says that. Guess who doesn't like the concept?]

Resources are going to be a touch more difficult to come by in the coming weeks, and as our guests we ask that you respect our laws and customs in this time. You will find a list of what it's permissible to purchase at your local vendors. Wasteful behaviour will become a punishable offense, and fully one-fifth of your resources, whether they are earned or made, are going to be... ah, requisitioned by detachments of the local law enforcement. It's with my sincerest apologies that I relay these terms to you, you see, and when we all come through this in fine fashion I will be reimbursing everyone fully for any, hm... hardships they might encounter due to these edicts.

And on that note!

[He claps his hands together, clearly trying to change gears from the unpleasantly macabre to the positive.]

I couldn't help but notice that several of you have taken an interest in our local language. Truly, I couldn't be happier. It brings me great joy to see your appreciation of our culture. Therefore, I'd like to offer my services as a translator, of sorts. I know each of the seventeen kedan dialects, including the more ancient forms, and I would gladly assist in any translations you've been undertaking. For a fee, of course, to be negotiated based on... oh, trifling things. The amount you wish translated, the time involved in doing so, and so on and so forth.

As always, if you have any questions do please ask, but it is my keenest wish that you keep it brief. I'm a touch preoccupied at the moment. Thank you.
