Um... hello... [Apart from the lesson from the Kedan on his first day Taiki has never really used his computer. Sometimes he has watched or read posts, but never responded. It feels too much like interrupting.

He's never made one either, but he's been here a month now and he still hasn't managed to get a job. He's a bit worried that people will start getting mad at him for it] Um... I'm Taiki, I live in the Water District and um... I was told I needed to get a job and um... I didn't know who to ask...

[He's ten and his job back home was what he exists to do, so the concept of applying for work is new] Um... I'm not sure what I could do, I can fly really fast, and um... I can read and write and I will work really hard.

[Ahh, he remembers when he was fresh-faced and new, looking for some way to be useful and make ends meet. Of course, he hadn't exactly been on the back of a giant turtle at the time and kidnapped from everything he'd known, so maybe he doesn't know how this kid feels.]

Anything you got a particular interest in? I promise we're not all slave drivers here.

Um... [A lot of things interested him, but his worry about whether he would be capable of doing them made him even less confident than usual] I um... I don't really know what kind of jobs there are [He knows ones like doctor, police person, teacher, shop keeper. His earth-dad had worked in an office. But they all seem like he would need some sort of qualifications to do]

[Gee, that's a whole heck of a lot of uncertainty in this kid. Maybe he should start out easy.]

Anything you can make into a job, really. Be a gopher, maybe a messenger...Though [and here Scott squints a bit] aren't you a little young for jobs?

They said I should get one... [He blinked] Um... I have a job at home... so I don't think I'm too young... um... I could be a messenger, do they need them when they have computers?

Sure, why not? Computers can't deliver things like packages, right? [Though he frowns a bit here.] Not sure if anyone's looking for one, but if I need anything I make sure to give it to you.

[Another kid. It was difficult to tell, but Midii suspected this one was even younger than she was. Like Bean.]

Asking is usually the first step.

There are a lot of places who will hire, so long as you ask.

So I can just go and ask them... [He blinked at the girl, she seemed quite young, if not as young as Taiki] They won't get mad?

The worst that can happen is that they'll say 'no' and send you away.

But, no, they won't get mad at you for asking.

Oh okay... [It was still a scary prospect] Um... where do you work? [It might be good knowing what kind of jobs would accept children]

I help out at the clinic. The big one. Mostly small errands here and there. Delivering papers and folders and anything else the adults need. They don't want me dealing with any of the patients.

Not yet... [He smiled, he likes Reiner] I hope I will find something soon though...

[His arms cross, and his brows furrow a little. It is not irritation though, but merely him considering the situation. He likes the kid.]

If nothing else, you could help me with deliveries. Back home, kids your age would work the fields, but I'm not sure if there are any around here.

[He nodded, he hasn't seen any fields either] I could help... though I'm not as strong as you but I could carry things in kirin form...

You know, I've never actually seen you do that. Turn into a kirin, I mean. How much could you carry like that? About the same as a horse?

Jack Frost might be able to get you a job as a messenger. If not, I can hire you at the Rehab Center. If that's not a problem.

Oh... I met him... [He was nice, and Taiki thought he could carry messengers, since he could get places fast.] Um... sorry I don't know what a Rehab centre is...

Rehabilitation. It's a place to help people who need less stress, including addicts. The messenger service would be safer. Try that first.

Oh... [He only half understands but he nods anyways, it sounded like the man was helping people and that was a really good thing] Um... okay... um... thank you...

Yes... [He blinks] I'm a Kirin...

I'm sorry, I don't know what a Kirin is.

Um... they have them here... [It's always hard to explain, better to show and so the next moment there is a dark horned beast on the other side. He stares into the screen for a moment and then realises that he cannot speak as a kirin, telepathically, over a computer system so ducks out of sight to change back, pulling on his clothes before he is back in front of the computer] Sorry... um... that's a Kirin...
