006: [Video]

[He's healed up now thanks to his healing factor but Victor still looks like he could use some rest and some food. Either way, he's offering a short wave and a tired look to the camera.]

So as severance packages go, a mob beating is a pretty crappy one. [He pauses for a moment and then sighs. He'd been trying to joke but now he just shrugs it off.] For anyone that didn't notice, the kedan are turning hostile. I got fired from my job and the next thing I know I'm getting a statue upside the head.

[He reaches up to touch the spot on his head that had been injured. It's healed up now but a slightly lighter shade of green than the rest of him. It'll even out in a little while.]

I didn't hear too much while I was getting pummeled but what I did hear was that they're angry at us for the rationing. [He rolls his eyes at this and shakes his head.]

Everyone should be careful out there. And keep an eye on your supplies in case any of the kedan decide to try to take it. And I'm going to ask that nobody goes brotherhood on the kedan. Don't go picking fights or attacking them since it'll only make things worse for all of us.

And for the people that helped me out, thanks. You guys didn't have to risk yourselves to save my skin and I appreciate it.

[He lingers for a moment before reaching over and turning off he video.]

[Santo just frowns for a moment, because he feels like the 'brotherhood' comment is directed at him... and he really did want to start a fight still, but there were more important things to deal with right now.]

They did. A lot of them. If those guys didn't come along when they did... [Yeah, he doesn't want to think about that so he's just going to stop there.]

Are you okay? No one's been attacking you, right?

Dude. [ Wally's clearly frowning. What the heck is going on, lately? He probably needs food more than most people on this turtle, and he's not going all nuts like some of the kedan. ]

They attacked you?

Yeah. [Victor sighs and nods.]

They did. My boss fired me and started yelling and then I got smashed in the head with a statue. The next thing I knew, I was on the ground being kicked and stomped on.

And all of this is cause of the rationing? I mean, c'mon - we're suffering just as much as they are right now.

[ He grumbles, but maybe he shouldn't spend time on that. ]

're you okay now? [ He's leaning in, trying to see if he can spot any injuries through the feed. ]

They think we're not suffering as much as them and that the rationing is only happening because of us being here. [He grumbles too.]

I'll be alright. I heal faster than most people. [His injuries are mostly gone but there are some spots that are darker or lighter green where he had bruises and cuts.]

[Ava is not happy to hear this news, not at all.] I'm not kicking their butts, but only because you're right that it would just make it worse.

Did your boss have any gang connections?

I didn't get any names. Considering how things went though, some of the ones there might be injured. One of the people that came to help me is pretty much a mini-hulk without the gamma or green after all.

[Leo has been keeping an eye on the unusually hostile kedan lately, but this comes as a surprise even to him. In his experience, Victor has never been anything but friendly - what could he possibly have done to provoke an attack like that?]

Did anyone alert the authorities about this? [He hardly likes Evandau, but the guy made a show of taking pride in his work.]

Jesus, Vic. [Cue one worried Vanessa as she stares at him, hand over her mouth in horror.] Are you okay? Do you need anything? They just beat you up?

I'll be fine. I heal fast. [He nods.] Yeah, they just beat me up. I'm going to need a new job.

It shouldn't have happened in the first place. [Not that it matters, because it's going to continue on until rationing ends, and even then...] Where are you going to find one?

[Ororo looks even less pleased this time and the thunder's audible in the background. Her arms are crossed and her fingers tapping a slow, unimpressed beat against her forearm.]

This won't be Brotherhood. It'll be pure X-Men reminding them that they need us. We don't need them.

[He winces slightly at the the thunder but stays calm.]

And how are you planning on doing that?
