[He's healed up now thanks to his healing factor but Victor still looks like he could use some rest and some food. Either way, he's offering a short wave and a tired look to the camera.]

So as severance packages go, a mob beating is a pretty crappy one. [He pauses for a moment and then sighs. He'd been trying to joke but now he just shrugs it off.] For anyone that didn't notice, the kedan are turning hostile. I got fired from my job and the next thing I know I'm getting a statue upside the head.

[He reaches up to touch the spot on his head that had been injured. It's healed up now but a slightly lighter shade of green than the rest of him. It'll even out in a little while.]

I didn't hear too much while I was getting pummeled but what I did hear was that they're angry at us for the rationing. [He rolls his eyes at this and shakes his head.]

Everyone should be careful out there. And keep an eye on your supplies in case any of the kedan decide to try to take it. And I'm going to ask that nobody goes brotherhood on the kedan. Don't go picking fights or attacking them since it'll only make things worse for all of us.

And for the people that helped me out, thanks. You guys didn't have to risk yourselves to save my skin and I appreciate it.

[He lingers for a moment before reaching over and turning off he video.]

Then I'm kicking your ass when you get back and you're telling me what you're up to.

You're in no shape to be kicking anything, Victor. [He sighs.] Just... trust me, okay? There's nothing to worry about. I'll be there in a couple minutes.

That won't stop me. [He pinches the bridge of his nose.] How do you not get that you saying that just makes me worry more?

I get that, but what am I supposed to say if telling you not to worry just makes you worry more?

[He disconnects before Victor can answer, and in about ten minutes he's walking through the door.]

Hey, man.

[Victor's still sitting at the console when Santo arrives.]

You're supposed to tell me what you're doing so I can either help or stop you before you do something incredibly stupid.

[He's been waiting all ten minutes to say it.]

[Santo had been hoping that Victor would have dropped it, and it just annoys him that his best friend held onto it.]

Really? Because it sounds like you just don't trust me. I don't get why you're afraid to let me try to take care of you.

[It was a bit of an overreaction, but he's doing everything that he's doing right now to take care of Victor and make sure they survive this mess. Reaching into his bag, he pulls out some chocolate and hands it to Victor.]

Eat.

Because I'm worried you're doing something without thinking it through all the way.

[He glances at the chocolate bar and takes it but doesn't start eating just yet.]

I'm doing what I have to to keep the two of us alive, and it's their fault we're in this mess.

[He's pissed, and he falls back into a chair.]

I'm not taking anything that wasn't mine to begin with.

I never said it wasn't their fault but if you're doing anything that could get you in trouble, you need to stop.

I'm not-... Look...

[He sighs, going quiet for a few minutes.]

I'm not contributing as much of my money as I'm supposed to be.

[Victor waits for Santo to speak and has to resist the urge to punch Santo when he reveals what he's doing.]

Santo! You need to not provoke those assholes so they don't arrest you again!

I knew you were going to say that...

[He huffs... Not wanting to hear it, but Victor was probably right... As always.]

I'm just trying to keep you from starving or getting hurt again. The fact that I can still get work is a damn miracle, though they treat me like a slave. I just... figured I deserved it.

We all deserve our full pay Santo but you can't do that. They were going to kill you the last time they had you, Santo! What do you think they'll do if they get you again?

And what makes you think they can kill me!? Or that I'd get caught again?

We're not immortal, Santo. Not even you. If they can dampen and turn of your powers, they can kill you and if they get you in that jail I can't get in there to help you. We've both lost too many people and I don't want to lose you too, dammit!

[Santo just sighs, calming down a little finally.] Okay... I'll stop.

[Vic sighs.] Good...thank you...

Yeah... I'm gonna go, I guess. I'll give whatever money I owe so we'll be done with it. [That and he's frustrated, and he wants to punch something.]

You don't have to go, Santo. [He frowns.] And don't go turning yourself in, just stop doing it. Just include the extra money in the next batch you hand over, okay?

[Santo really wants to punch something. He really wants to snap at Victor about how he's going to go fix things because he can't do anything without screwing up.] Okay... I'm not going anywhere.

[Victor nods, moving to sit next to Santo. He stays quiet for a moment and finally bites into the chocolate bar.]

I didn't tell you before but I was scared when I found out you got arrested before...worse than when we fought Mr. Negative...

[Santo doesn't say anything for a few minutes. He doesn't even look at Victor because... What is he even supposed to say about that?]

You know that you don't have to worry about me... I can just rebuild myself after whatever happens. [The implication that Victor can't is there.]

Santo, we've both talked about situations where you can't rebuild yourself. And there are ways to attack and hurt your psionic body. [He sighs.] And don't tell me not to worry about you. You're my best friend, Santo. I worry more about you than anyone else on this damn turtle and nothing's going to change that.

[Santo knows there are situations where he can be hurt, but he tries not to think about them. He tries hard to make himself appear invincible... He can't do that with Victor though, especially when he was just hearing about this.]

Okay, I'm sorry. [He puts his arm around Victor's shoulder, pulling him closer.]

I was scared out of my mind when I came home and found you bloody. Everything I'm trying to do here, I'm doing it with you in mind... I'm afraid of losing you too, man.

We both need to stop.

[Victor leans against Santo.]

Stop trying to do things on our own and start working together better. We watch eachothers' backs.
