Okay, the kedan are seriously getting on my nerves. [Ava's standing in front of her console just so she can keep her hands on her hips and glare unhappily down at the screen.] We didn't ask to be here!

And I really doubt we're gonna get any help we don't make people give us. So, I say we figure out who all's responsible for actual attacks on people and turn 'em over to the guards. Then they pretty much have to something, right?

And seriously, does anybody here know how to read this language yet?

That's assuming that they dislike us for a reason and not just because we're foreign and different. It's often easiest for the majority to blame all their problems on those who are different from them instead of looking for a real reason. [That's how it worked in Atlantis, at least]

Forgive me if I'm a little sceptical on that. [In her experience, people who are foreign or different are never that welcomed. Then again her experience is Atlantis, which is easily the most racist place on Earth] To me it just seems that the problems with the food and Tu Vishan's health are just being blamed on us because it's convenient. Because we're different than them and therefore must be the cause. That's how it usually works in my experience.

[Mera has seen it too much to even think of denying it. People aren't nice. She knows this for a fact]

Yes, not always. But often. And it most certainly shouldn't be. I'm not trying to discredit your idea and argue. I'm just merely pointing out that perhaps the problem isn't something we can solve so simply. If the problem really is just that we're here, what is there for us to do about it?

Yes, leaving isn't an option. If it was, I imagine most of us would have done it by now. [She probably would have. Or maybe not. She's not sure. Arthur's here so it's not like there's anything she's dying to go home to. Everyone else is dead] And there is the root of the problem. They're not exactly communicative, are they? It doesn't help that so few of us understand their language. Things would be much better if we could just speak to each other. But diplomacy is hard when the two parties can't even understand one another.

Yes, which takes us back to square one. What are we meant to do about an entire population that doesn't want us?

[She smiles a bit, even though it really was a bad attempt at a joke] Somehow I really don't think that would help our cause at all.
