Fourth Post [video]
[Sabriel looks exhausted but also strangely energized, like she's drunk several cups of coffee. There's a book in the background- oddly the writing on the spine is in the kedan language, instead of English.]
Several nights ago I was attacked by the man calling himself Amon. He had.. some kind of ability to control my body. [And Sabriel's expression hardens.] I made sure he cannot use that power any more. [Although she wasn't expecting was that Amon would thank her for it.]
There are several other things I'd like to discuss. I know the kedan are becoming hostile again, and we have learned that we were brought here to battle something powerful, and that not everyone here has the ability to fight.
[Sabriel holds up her hand, and traces a glowing symbol in the air that quickly begins to fade.]
I am a Charter mage, and and I can give others the ability to use the same magic I do. Charter magic can be used to heal, to defend, to attack, and to bind. If you're interested in learning, I will teach you. [Sabriel regards the camera quite seriously. It's been brought up enough that she feels the need to address one concern she's heard.] And if you attempt to abuse that power, I will stop you.
And has anyone heard from Cosette? She didn't show up for her lesson. [Amon's attack is still fresh in Sabriel's mind, and she's starting to worry something similar might have happened to Cosette.]
[Locked to her students; 30% encryption]
I've spoken with Iorveth, and I believe there's something we can do to help with what we were brought here to do.
I want to start teaching all of you about binding spells- I'll explain more when we meet in person, but I think this is the best way we can help Tu Vishan.
[Locked to Iorveth; 30% encryption]
I've learned a little more about what we're meant to face. [And then Sabriel actually smiles.] And something that might be of even more use.
[ooc: Replies may also come from Amon, who's still hanging out in Sabriel's suite.]

audio; I'm so sorry for Sabriel, she doesn't deserve any of this
What is wrong with you!? [No, she can’t believe she just repeated what her master once asked her. But to her Amon is the end-all, be-all of absolute wrongness in her personal world so everything she says is justified. Yup.]
no subject
I never wanted your life, and perhaps I should have clarified for you because of course you would equate being a non-bender with a fate equal to or worse than death. [ This was seriously putting a damper on his afternoon; you already have your bending, Korra. Honestly someone might think you're upset. ]
Don't act proud. Thinking yourself falling face first into a convenient victory of chance elevates you.
A proposal: I run a clinic in a poor part of the Earth sector, and the injuries have increased with ever expanding construction projects in the area. You can help people that despise you instead of ignoring them like you had in Republic City. With a neutral party keeping the peace, of course.
The choice is on you.
Video; Korra and her crap
Maybe you've been on this turtle too long or have some weird definitions; but you telling me that Benders of every nation would rally behind my untimely DEMISE and you saving me for last so I get my duel and then you’ll DESTROY me really comes across as you wanting to kill me!
[Those words on that night have never left her even after she accepted her fears and talked about them. That first step in overcoming them…]
I hope Sabriel’s got a good enough head on her shoulders to recognize that you’re still lying to get what you want.
[As she seethes while listening to his proposal she can only develop a withering, scathing, slow burn of a glower that bores through her camera. Directly so they are piercing at the eyes cradled by that mask.]
If you think for one moment that I EVER ignored the people of Republic City, then you really have lost your mind. [If she could, Korra would take the memory of her defending the non-benders from Tarrlok’s task force and stab his brain with it.]
We’re done here.
[Without even bothering to address his offer, the last image is of her exhaustively putting her face in her hands before the feed cuts out.]
video→action;
Your death would not serve a purpose- here or there.
[ At least he got that in before she swan dived.
To push collectively all of her buttons, Amon fired off a (prepared in the event of the inevitable blowout) text message with directions to the clinic. Far as he was concerned she could continue to blow him off and go about posturing to the masses. ]
That could have gone better.
[ With an exasperated sigh, Amon removed his mask then leaned back into his chair. He looked to Sabriel with all the amassed wear and tear from his time on Keeliai. ]
And now you've met the benevolent champion of my world.
action;
I've spoken to Korra before, but if you didn't try to kill her then what on earth did you do to make her so upset?
[Her tone isn't quite accusing, but Sabriel's pretty sure there's more to what happened than what either of them are saying.]
Does this have something to do with your brother insisting that killing you would be more merciful than what I did?
action;
My goal was to undermine bending as the controlling force in our lives, and that poor excuse for an Avatar was more a thorn in my side than the nemesis she imagines me.
[ He kept the tonality even and restrained, but every word let on how annoyed he truly was. ]
So far you've been given the opinions of my enemy, whom you're now doubt aware possesses more hot air than patience. And received an extraordinarily one-sided version of my entire life from my very much estranged brother.
Tell exactly what it is about me you want to know so you can form your own opinion and be done with it.
action;
[Sabriel stares down into her coffee, curling her fingers around the mug.]
I don't know what your father did to you, I don't think I want to know.
But while you were unconscious, some information about why we were brought here surfaced, and what happened in your world doesn't exactly matter- I'm curious, but it doesn't matter. Not unless you plan to try to make foreigners fight amongst ourselves.
action;
[ Amon's posture stiffens and he cracks his neck to draw out a silence that had started to veer into awkward. ]
Oh? I'm not interested in whether or not something breaks out amongst the other foreigners. Your concern that I might try to profit from it or purposely cause things to escalate is misplaced; I don't want things to get worse here.
action;
[Sabriel slumps in her chair.]
And one more thing- don't try to interfere with my efforts to train people unless you have good reason to think one of my students is going to harm people with what I teach them. If what I learned is correct, I should be teaching as many people as I can.
action;
[ Amon agreed as he fell into a sort comfortable complacency. Easily the most relaxed conflict he's ever found himself embroiled in. ]
Our scuffle was hardly an attack; I'll admit though my intentions were to talk to you I was... relieved of my sense, and allowed things to get out of hand. Doubtful I'll be your only critic but so long as you practice responsibility herding your ever growing student body then I won't intervene.
[ Bent over with elbows to his knee; his eyes leveled with Sabriel's ]
You need only ask should you come to regret or feel threatened by someone under your tutelage. That I can promise you.
action;
Besides, if you couldn't stop me, how do you expect to stop them?
action;
Your hubris does you no credit, and you should not hold me up as the standard for what others here you can do. Even now I am being agreeable because I choose to be- not because I've accepted some defeat.
action;
I'm perfectly aware I didn't bind your free will- or anything except one particular thing. And I know I'm hardly the most powerful person here.
action;
No. You are not.
action;
What did you do?
action;
The feeling in your arm will return in no less than a minute or two; I only pinched a few nerves.
action;
You did say you knew the human body well.
action;
[ He meant to be a sarcastic ass, but now that he said it aloud... ]
action;
You missed a few things, while you were unconscious.
action;
[ Amon picks up on her darkened mood in an instant and he brings the timber of his voice down to an almost concerned whisper. ]
What happened?
action;
I spoke with a man named Iorveth about what he'd learned from the Emperor, about the creature she brought us here to fight.
And then I had a dream where I spoke to Tu Vishan- except he called himself Asti, and he confirmed what Iorveth had said, about the nature of our enemy.
[And even for people who are now living on a turtle that sounds outrageous, so Sabriel admits something else.]
I thought it might have been just a very vivid dream, except he told me to read a certain kedan fairytale, and that I would be able to read all of their language if I did- and it actually happened.
[And now for the really bad part.]
What we've been brought to fight is immensely powerful, incredibly old and has no known weaknesses. It can kill with a touch, a breath, a thought, and turn the air in our lungs to acid, as well as change its shape.
The Emperor brought three hundred foriegners into this world sometime before, for the same purpose- all of them died, though we're not certain of the cause.
