Speaking of which, here's Jason: sitting at a console somewhere in the city, elbows up on the table and fingers steepled together. He's regarding the console carefully through bright blue eyes, skeptical but determined. )}

But it would be pretty dumb to say no to having a place to sleep, since I don't know how long I'm going to be here. I've taken a look around, and this place is really... something. I barely know where to start.

_{( His face scrunches, like he's considering something. Then he lets out a breath, offering the console a half-smile. )}

Hi, I'm Jason. It seems like there's a lot going on here, and I'd like to do what I can to help. So whatever's going on--I heard something about rationing? And someone mentioned other problems--please, let me know.

_{( He nods, with some sort of finality. He's about to end the feed, but thinks better of it, blurting out as an addendum: )}

And, guys? If you're out there, it'd be great if you could check in. ASAP.

_{( Looking slightly sheepish, he ends the communication there. )}

Honestly? No one really knows. I've been here like, four months though [Percy shoves a hand back through his hair] What's the last thing you remember? Before showing up here, I mean. [He'll answer questions later, promise. Right now he just needs to find this out]

_{( His eyes get a bit wider at "four months", but he doesn't comment on that immediately. Instead he runs a hand over his face and then shifts his gaze away from the console for a moment. )}

We got back to the Argo II. Right after you and Annabeth...

[His jaw clenches slightly at 'you and Annabeth', because on the heels of Nico, Tartarus is starting claw back up the back of his mind again. He breathes out slowly, nodding] Okay, so you're from pretty much the same time as the rest of us. When I showed up, Annabeth didn't know anything about what happened after the Argo II reached Camp Jupiter. [A faintly awkward pause.] Oh, uh - Leo's here. And Nico just showed up. And you've spoken to Annabeth - but that's everyone. I mean, unless someone else has showed up but hasn't gotten in contact yet. [What he's trying to say is, sorry about your Piper life, bro]

_{( He nods once, twice, processing the various pieces of information. Sure, the idea of Percy and Annabeth being here, and okay, still doesn't quite compute, but it's better than the alternative and so he's wiling to roll with it. His placid expression shifts abruptly towards the end, though, and he looks mildly troubled.

The realization that Piper isn't here doesn't have time to sink in, either. He was just standing next to her a few hours, ago. Still, he's keeping it together pretty well. He gives himself points, for that. )}

That's still too many of us to be a coincidence.

[Percy slams up Leo's encryption] We were brought here by the Emperor to either fight something or...be fed to it, I guess. Asti - the turtle's dying. If we defeat this thing, he might be able to survive. [Three guesses what Percy has decided to care about while on the turtle] I don't think the Emperor's targeting us. She doesn't seem to know - or care - who comes through, so long as they do.

So--where is it? This thing we've got to defeat?

_{( Stashing questions on the Emperor for later. )}

[Precy makes a face] No idea. We can't even talk about it properly outside of the palace without drawing its attention. And we can't go looking for it, because there's a barrier around the whole turtle. No swimming under, or flying over. [SUCK IT]

Okay, if we can't find it, and can't even look for--wouldn't talking about it work in our favor? Draw it out?

[Percy finds himself having to stop himself from gritting his teeth] Dude, if that was going to work in our favour, I would have just told you what it's called.

[He opens his mouth to fire something back and then shuts it. Because now isn't really the time] We only really just started finding things out. There's some other stuff too, but Annabeth's probably better at explaining the whole thing.

What suite are you in? We should probably know where to find each other.

_{( Jason just rubs a hand over his face. It's been a long day. )}

It's the wood sector. 1C.

[Something of a smile twitches on Percy's lips, because he's totally thinking about Thalia.]

Right. We're in the Metal Sector, 1A. Or, uh...[He pauses for a second, because he's not at his own suite often enough that he remembers what number it is right away] Water, 1B. But that's mostly where Mrs O'Leary and the fish stay.

"We." _{( He echoes that with a tone that's not quite teasing, since that's not how he rolls, but flat and dry. )}

Which would explain what Leo was complaining about.

[There's a pause before Percy realises what he's getting at. He coughs a little, rubbing at the back of his neck] It made sense, okay? [He's mostly referring to the fact that they have issues being apart right now, but he's also not going to explain that to Jason, so the other guy is free to take that how he will]

And seriously, it takes like two seconds to knock. And it's not as bad as he's making it out to be, either!

I dunno, man. Leo is usually pretty good about stuff like that.

_{( He very tactfully disappeared to work on Festus whenever Jason and Piper wanted alone time. It was appreciated.
