[ It's a little too late to adhere to that whole non-interference clause of the Prime Directive, being the subject of an alien-napping and all, so here is Spock in all his pointy-eared glory. Looking as straight-faced as possible. Unlike Kirk, he didn't part from their meeting and then drink himself under a table, he stayed up all night watching network conversations and Sciencing. It would be illogical to... wallow, and he refuses to acknowledge that he even has the urge. ] ... Fascinating.

[ For such ancient technology, this thing appears remarkably serviceable. ] Greetings. I am Commander Spock, of the United Federation of Planets. If I understand correctly, then you are my fellow... detainees. [ There, that's politic enough. ] I would like to request information on what is being done with the crashed satellite debris. In return, I may be of some assistance in constructing something useful from it, as I am familiar with this level of technology.

In addition, any information on the turtle itself would be appreciated; the scans I have taken of the creature only tell me so much, and the indigenous people seem... disinclined to reply to my queries.

[ Aaaand he'll just give a sharp nod and the Vulcan Salute on his way out. ]

...My home, Ephinea, is a satellite to another planet, Fodra. The life on Fodra all died over a thousand years ago...even though there were monsters, there was no eleth to anything, and nothing grew. I noticed it when I got here...Tu Vishan doesn't really have eleth the way I'm used to, but it feels the same. Like it's dying.

Fodra's core...eventually started trying to kill off humans, since it thought they were the cause of the problem.

[He isn't considering that the idea a planet's core is a living thing might be new information...but explaining it would be easier if Lambda was awake. Not that Asbel particularly wants to explain 'So I actually have most of Fodra's core absorbed and sleeping in me, along with a being that tried to destroy my world, but don't worry, we're cool now'.]

Eleth is the basic component of life. It's created by the core and filtered through the valkines...ah, that is, large cryas crystals. Smaller cryas crystals can be used to channel eleth for spells...I'm not very good at them, though, so I'm afraid there's not much I can tell you about that.

[Welcome to Video Game Worldbuilding 101, Spock. Please leave your logic at the door.]

Yes. Richard-- King Richard of Windor, that is, he's more skilled with that than I am, and can probably tell you more about it.

[Asbel blinks, before nodding in confirmation. Right, maybe that wasn't a thing on other planets...] Yes. The Lastalia in Ephinea isn't actively interacting with us, but it is sentient the same way Fodra's was. If things decayed like they had on Fodra it's possible Ephinea would try to defend itself too.

[He wonders, again, if that is actually where Lambda came from, but Lambda never bothers to explain that and it's not like he can ask while his headpassenger is asleep, anyway.]

Yes. He actually arrived here before I did...supposedly, he's been here about two weeks now.

[He doesn't see any reason not to inform Spock; the man doesn't seem like a threat, and if he is, Richard is a formidable fighter on his own right.

Plus, Asbel's still going to protect him. But there's nothing about Spock that doesn't seem trustworthy, so it's totally safe.]
