Basically I need a seamstress or someone who can fix my... clothes that I came in which are pretty torn up. Someone who is like, private or something. I... [He takes a deep breath. It's clear he's torn up about something, maybe even has been crying.]

Some people from my world have control over water, and some of those people can use water to heal. [Korra’s guess was off by one year.] I’m here if you ever get hurt. [Whatever he’s got bundled up in his lap, Korra can’t quite make out.] Are those the only clothes you have?

Yeah, these [in his lap] are what I came with, then I bought the ones I'm wearing. [He had to sneak in all invisible so they wouldn't see the torn up Spidey suit, but he left money so he figures it's square.]

Superpower? [Korra was completely caught off guard by that.] No, no. It’s something a lot of people have on my world. Nothing superhero-ish about it. [As far as she was concerned.]

Oh, well the kedan sell clothes here too. Though you may want more custom made ones. [The clothing styles they sold in Keeliai were pretty close to the styles back home with only minor differences. But everyone else wore some really different stuff apparently.] If you can’t find anyone else to fix them, I can take a crack at it.

[Why he wanted to keep clothing a secret was beyond her. Maybe they were embarrassing?]

Okay, I can’t lie. Bending is pretty awesome. [Mutants instantly makes her think of Raphael’s network pot about being a mutant turtle. She can’t help but laugh.] Nope, sorry. Just some back home have the ability to bend and others don’t. [She shrugs as that was a normal, acceptable thing to her.]

That juulan they give you will run out sooner than you think. [She made her stretch for as long as she could manage when she first got here.] So you may want to look into getting some work now that you’re in Keeliai, Miles. [It felt so weird to her giving that advice to a thirteen year old.]

Work? Do I not have to go to school or anything?

You know I never thought about that.I don't even know if there are any schools, I never looked. So I guess not? But if you want a teacher there are some pretty smart foreigners that would be good teachers. I'm actually learning English because I asked someone to teach me.

But you're definitely going to need to get a little income going. Maybe you could get lessons while working? [So many things related to schooling had never crossed Korra's mind before. So of course now was a great time. Of course.]

Wow you're really good at English for just learning.

I dunno what I could do for work. I can't really do anything? [That's such a lie, but Spider-Man skills aren't marketable.]

Oh no, not speaking it [Korra laughs.] Just writing it. We can all understand what each other is saying. Like right now I’m talking to you in Chinese, but you’re understanding it as English and you’re talking to me in English but it’s clear as day in Chinese. [She managed to find a patient kedan to explain that one to her.Korra taps her chin thoughtfully look from Miles to his bundled up clothes.] Well, you could try seeing if there’s a tailoring job. That way if you’re clothes get ruined, you’ll know how to fix them yourself. And make juulan while you’re at it!

Whoa, that's cool! So to you, I'm speaking Chinese?

I think I'd have to get good at sewing before I take a tailoring job, but that's at least an idea. Thanks!
