[The video is coming from a console cafe in the Wood Sector, as is per usual with Bucky, who never posts from where he actually lives, and he's looking... well, a bit worse for the wear. He's pretty banged up, like he's gone several rounds in the boxing ring. Several small cuts are covered with band-aids, and his wrist is visible, clumsily self-set and wrapped up. Other than that, it's hard to see the actual extent of his injuries, as most of the bruising is under his shirt (the plain white t-shirt with his regular Army uniform, he's not in costume).]

So, powers are coming back, hurray for us. Now, turtle, let's play a game of 'recommend Bucky a good doctor because holy smokes, his ribs sure do hurt'. Feel like I went ten rounds with Master Man. [He starts to laugh, but it just turns into a grimace and a subtly mouthed 'ow', curling an arm protectively over said ribs.] No housecalls, I come to you.

[He takes a deep breath through his nose and fixes the slight, patented Bucky smile back on his face, shoving the pain his broken ribs aside for the moment (it's not the first time this has happened).] That said, people I know, lemme know how you're doin'. And folks I don't know, feel free to check in too for my curiosity's sake.

By the way, how'd all those investigations go? Did anyone find anything interesting they wanna share with the class? [Can't hurt, he figures. Worst case scenario is no one tells him anything.]

[Ouch, those don't look too good. Then again, Bucky isn't looking too good either so really they're in the same boat here. He ambles over to the kitchen table and sinks down into one of the chairs, breathing shallowly for a moment to give his ribs a respite.]

You got shot? Christ, I can't let you go anywhere without me. How'd you get shot?

It's not like I tried to get shot. [He huffs a bit, indignant.]

They had gotten some tech from that satellite that went down or something because I didn't think they had guns like that around here. And we managed to stop them from poisoning the turtle.

You never try to get shot. [Srsly Toro?]

They were poisoning the turtle? Really? [He frowns at that.] My team played guard dog for a defector. We ended up shutting down a bunch'a this thing's personnel and administration stuff.

Shuddap, you punk. Like you can talk. How often do you crack a rib? [He can recall a few times during the war.]

But yeah, these freaky scientist kedan were pumping poisoning into the roots of some of the trees in Wood Sector and they were so old the roots went all the way down into the turtle's body or something. That's why he wasn't healing after that attack everyone talks about. It was like dealing with Zola all over again.

[He makes a face at him, but it turns to a grimace when he moves wrong.] Usually it's other people crack 'em for me.

[But then he sobers, leaning back in the chair, running a hand through his hair.] Criminey. It's always freaky scientists, ain't it? At least you stopped it, so he can- get better fully now.

Yeah. [He grins.] It felt good--doing something for once. I'm not used to sitting around like this, waiting for things to happen. We've been pretty busy back home since the All-Winners broke up, but then I wind up here and it's like weeks of nothing before a big threat happens.

[He finally turns off the sausage and pushes it around to get it nice and greasy. Then he sighs.] Is it bad to want things to happen just so you're doing something? How selfish can a guy get?

Yeah, it did. I mean, I guess I kinda blew my team's mission, but- [He shrugs slightly, resting an arm over the back of the chair and his chin on his arm.]

I don't think so. It was nice to get out and hit something again. Worth the busted ribs.

[He scoops the sausage onto a plate and turns to plant it down at the table in front of Bucky with a snort.] Only you would think broken ribs is worth a chance to sock someone in the mouth.

...But you really don't think it's bad that we're so used to having things to hit? I thought it would get easier after the war, but then it's like all the wackos came out of the woodwork like termites.

[Oh. Food. He's already breaking off a piece to stuff in his mouth even as he says,] S'okay, Tony said he'd feed me when I got there. [He's still a growing young man okay.]

...I dunno. I never really got to the whole 'after the war' part. I just know I've been goin' stir-crazy before this.

Oh right...yeah. [He feels bad now for even bringing it up. Being with Bucky like this, it's almost like they were never apart and he could be forgetting what it was like for him to not be there. How could he forget? He tries to change the focus a bit.]

Maybe we should spend more time patrolling and and beating up those gang members that keep causing trouble.

[Bucky isn't too upset by it. He's had a while to get over dying, at least to an extent. Maybe he'll never really be over dying or losing all the time he's lost (he doesn't want to talk about apparently being alive, it's still harder to wrap his head around), but he doesn't pay it much thought. So when he kind of trails off Bucky just rolls his eyes at him a little, flicking a piece of sausage at his nose.]

What, like a couple'a vigilantes? I could get behind that. Give the police more time to go after the real criminals, the ones workin' for you know what.

[If Bucky is going to shrug it off, then Toro will let it lie and try not to slip up like that again.]

Not vigilantes, heroes. Like we were back home. The kedan shouldn't stay mad at us after we helped to fix Tu Vishan, so maybe they wouldn't mind some help dealing with all of the trouble those gangs keep causing.

[He doesn't have to. Bucky hates being tiptoed around more, as if sparing his feelings is an important concern. He's been raised to be strong, masculine, to bury things and present an okay face to the world.]

If it ain't sanctioned by the police isn't it still vigilantism? I don't care much, though. It sounds like a plan to me. I could use the exercise, think I'm gettin' soft.

Yeah, as soft as a potato. Still solid enough to clobber someone with. [Perfectly analogy, if Toro says so himself.]

So should we look around to see which areas are already covered or stick closer to home?

Did you just compare me to a potato? This is why we never let you do the talkin', pal. [Not sure if should be flattered or not.]

Let's pick a sector and stick with it. Not Earth, too close to actual home, and I don't think there's much goin' on in Wood... Maybe Fire or Metal.
