001 ✥ VIDEO
[Hello residents of turtleland, have one (1) Rory Willams looking at you through these console things. He's looking decisively uncertain about this, possibly wondering if making this post is even a good idea in the first place, considering one name he saw on the list...
But well, he's already started the recording, so stopping it now is kind of redundant. Rory gives another unsure look through the screen for a moment more before he pointedly clears his throat and starts to speak.]
Uh... hello, I guess. My name's Rory, I used to be a nurse from Leadworth, and I'm... married.
[Yeah, good job there Rory. Real smooth. Can you see how out of his depth he feels right now?]
So, um. From what I understand, we're not-dead... and on a giant turtle. [Quiet mutter at this point.] Why a giant turtle? Space whales are one thing, but... [Trailing off here for a moment now, as if lost in some other thought entirely, but Rory quickly shakes himself off it and focuses back on the video again.] I guess not being dead is good. I mean, it's not fun being dead. I don't like being dead.
[Rory, you're not making things better for yourself.]
Anyway--hello, I guess? Looks like I'm going to be stuck here no matter what, so I suppose its nice to meet the rest of you who are stuck here too. [Beat.] Here's to being stuck together? Or something like that.

[Oh, Rose is critically staring him down, trying to piece together how a nurse from Leadworth knows about space whales. She eventually relents and grins, something nice and welcoming. And then she waves, finger waggling.]
Seen a whole lot of things out in space, but never a whale.
video
[Trying his best to smile here. Smiling is good. Everyone should smile as much as they can.]
...well, she wasn't my wife yet back then, but yeah.
video
[She's going to slowly try to lure more and more information out of him on this, because space whales so sound like something the Doctor would know about. It gives her something to talk to him about later, anyway.]
video
[There's a reason why its a space whale, y'know.]
And yes, I suppose. We were going to be married soon, though.
[Because she... yeah. Ran away with the Doctor on the night before their wedding. :|]
video
[Rose laughs at his answer, giving her head a shake.]
What I mean was, what part of space, yeah? I've seen all sorts of planets and things, but never a space whale. Kinda hoping to be able to do it, once me and the Doctor get out of here.
[Yep, she casually slips his name in there. Just in case this conversation has anything to do with him. Which it might. She's not sure yet.]
video
I don't know. Um. I mean, I guess I could ask if she ever comes here but I would rather not want her to be suddenly kidnapped onto a giant turtle if I can help it.
[That's not the point Rory--]
You're, er, Rose? I guess? [Pause.] Clara just told me about you.
video
Yeah, I'm Rose. Rose Tyler. Should've been quicker, got out my own introduction.
[There's a pause, as she tries to get puzzle pieces to fall into place.]
Your girlfriend, is she like us, then? Travels with the Doctor?
[If that's the case, she feels bad for him. She hopes he's not like Mickey.]
video
Rory Willams. Should have said that too at the start. It's nice to meet you.
And, uh--she's my wife now, but yes. [A beat.] I went too, later.
[Don't worry, Rose, he's not like Mickey. He's much better than Mickey, and suffered for that big time.]
video
Been there myself. Not married or anything! Just on the TARDIS with someone I was with for a while.
[Man that was awkward and annoying. It doesn't seem to be the case for Rory and his wife, though, so she's glad to hear that.]
Did Clara mention that he's here too? The Doctor, I mean. Figure she would've.
video
Anyway, he's just going to nod at the question.]
Yeah, she told me. [Although its not the one he knows...] How is he?
video
[Which of course, doesn't tell him much, but it does pull a fond smile out of her. One of those slightly awkward dreamy looks that girls get when they really fancy someone when they definitely shouldn't.]
He's just brilliant, better than anyone I've ever known. If anyone's gonna be able to get us outta here and back home, it's him.
video
It's complicated.]
He is pretty brilliant when the time comes. [Rory will give the Doctor that much, at least.] Hopefully he can figure something out.
video
[She'll stand by that fact until her last breath.]
But just in case he doesn't figure anything out, it's good he's got all of us here. Maybe we can put our heads together and do the thinking for him this time. Are you good at escape plans, Rory?
video
[Does avoiding danger alone for 2000 years count? Yes? No?]
--sort... of? I'm good at avoiding danger, at least.
