001 ✥ VIDEO
[Hello residents of turtleland, have one (1) Rory Willams looking at you through these console things. He's looking decisively uncertain about this, possibly wondering if making this post is even a good idea in the first place, considering one name he saw on the list...
But well, he's already started the recording, so stopping it now is kind of redundant. Rory gives another unsure look through the screen for a moment more before he pointedly clears his throat and starts to speak.]
Uh... hello, I guess. My name's Rory, I used to be a nurse from Leadworth, and I'm... married.
[Yeah, good job there Rory. Real smooth. Can you see how out of his depth he feels right now?]
So, um. From what I understand, we're not-dead... and on a giant turtle. [Quiet mutter at this point.] Why a giant turtle? Space whales are one thing, but... [Trailing off here for a moment now, as if lost in some other thought entirely, but Rory quickly shakes himself off it and focuses back on the video again.] I guess not being dead is good. I mean, it's not fun being dead. I don't like being dead.
[Rory, you're not making things better for yourself.]
Anyway--hello, I guess? Looks like I'm going to be stuck here no matter what, so I suppose its nice to meet the rest of you who are stuck here too. [Beat.] Here's to being stuck together? Or something like that.

I have all the time in the world. Waiting around for things to happen is what I do best.
[If by waiting he means faking his own death and running off to gallivant on Earth then this is quite accurate.]
Indeed. Nothing you can do about it. At least you're not whining on here. I haven't even been here that long. You wouldn't believe how some of the residents here act at their most vulnerable.
video; :>>
Rory frowns a bit at the latter comment about people whining and all that, sort of understanding - but at the same time, not really comfortable with the other's way of saying it.]
You can't blame them. I mean, nobody expected themselves to suddenly be brought here without any warning whatsoever. It is a little sudden.
video forever
It's not like any of us can just leave though either. It makes more sense to save that kind of energy for finding a way out if they insist on doing so. I feel as though I left one little problem of a planet to come elsewhere for almost the same thing.
[When all is said and done, Balthazar just wants everything to be smooth sailing.]
video and ever
[At least, as much as possible.]
I've been told that some people are trying to find a way out, at least. So that's a start.
and ever
[And if anybody thinks that Balthazar will start to care, they have another thing coming.]
Well, that's a start. Personally I think that I'll kick back and enjoy myself assuming that the problems going on around here can actually be fixed.
\o\~
Well, it's worth trying, right? You won't know unless you try.

I've attempted the whole giving a damn thing. It didn't agree with me. That's fantastic if it works for you though. Really...enjoy that. I hope it does more for you than what it does for me.
no subject
It wasn't all that easy for me either. I mean, a lot of things happened before I could actually marry my wife - [the universe dying, him being erased from existence, somehow becoming a plastic Roman and then sitting beside a box for 2000 years] - and its never easy but I think its not worth giving up over. At least, that's what I think.

[Rory, that tale of yours is a sad one.]
Oh, and did I mention this was my closest friend? I didn't? Well now you know. I would just adore this whole living for the moment and being frivolous with gusto over assisting all that I can. The whole dying thing makes charity pointless.
no subject
[Pause.]
Not that dying is good. I hate dying myself too.
no subject
Lucky you that you kept coming back then.

[For all he knows, maybe he DOES come back or this place is just sort of him coming back. He ends up shrugging.]
I suppose it can end up being a curse all things considered. What do you consider this place to be in regards to living or dying?
no subject
It's just a place. Giant turtle aside--can't really say for sure if what they say is actually true.
no subject
Just a giant turtle indeed. It certainly is a hormonal turtle to weaken so many of us. That was a nice 'Welcome aboard'.
[He waves a hand dismissively. It is not directed at the other so much as at the situation in general.]
At least it won't be boring.
no subject
Er--I'm sorry? [He doesn't really get the 'weaken' bit, but okay.] Are you doing alright, then?
no subject
[The sarcasm is strong, but not really mean-spirited.]
Forget what I said. I suppose what we should all be focusing on is our purpose here and what it all means, hmm?
no subject
I... guess? [Do they have a purpose in being here - that is, aside from being kidnapped.] Is this place in danger?
no subject
I think it is...was? Whatever is going on here, it is not completely paradise for any of us. Really though, were you in paradise where you came from?
no subject
Unless you count Manhattan in the 1930s as paradise, then no.
no subject
no subject
[Small smile here.]
But yeah, really not paradise.
no subject
[he looks around a moment.]
Not so bad for the back of a turtle anyways.
