[Annabeth's face pops up, curls a mess as usual, but considering the turtle developments, she doesn't look nearly as cross as usual?? There's the sounds of water splashing around somewhere in the suite, but she doesn't appear to care.]

It goes without saying that the turtle's health started improving at last. [Because powers! And it's swimming again!] I know various numbers of us were tasked by Evandau into investigations, and I don't know how all the other situations turned out, but Doctor Soranik Natu, Rogue, Percy Jackson, and myself found something probably worth sharing.

We were assigned with investigating a string of robberies initially, but really, the important part is we discovered a series of incomplete archways in several different homes and attempted to recreate one in its entirety.

The whole "world between Life, Death, and Dreaming" thing everyone gets on arrival? Start taking it literally, if you weren't before. Keeliai as we live in it here is the Life plane. The archway opened up a portal of a kind, and said portal took us to the Death plane.

[A blob of water floats across the screen, blurring Annabeth's face, but it's still possible to see her turn around in a huff, and from somewhere off screen there's an "Oops, sorry!" before the water flies off. She continues unperturbed.]

It was basically a version of Keeliai gone awry and ruined, everything rotting away, and we found markings in the form of some kind of blood magic, directly over where the Emperor's Palace is in this plane. Scans proved it to be kedan blood in origin, some of it fresh, and the pattern was being drawn by - you know, what we're here to fight, in a magical attempt to kill Tu Vishan. We were able to wipe the incomplete blood slate clean and stop this part of his illness before leaving the plane. [By 'we' she mostly means Ocean Jesus did A Water Thing.]

Unfortunately, or fortunately, the way in seems to be gone. The archways all disappeared once we got back, as did that particular methodology in creating them. [Melted pins ahh. A pause.] The Death plane is probably where our infamous threat is hiding. Its domain, so to speak.

Tu Vishan's health is picking up, but this - this situation here, with this thing we're up against? It's definitely not over.

I was thinking about the same with the life and death thing. This metaphysical stuff is way beyond me.

[At the direction bit? Jaime just gives her a look before he bumps the encryption up a bit more. Just in case.]

Nothing's there anymore, far as I know. But if I do give you directions, you can't go alone.

Apparently all we'll ever get told by them is what they deem necessary. But if we'd known about the Death plane earlier, it could have made looking for this thing a lot easier.

[She can sort of tell the hesitance, so she just. Bumps the encryption up to her own 8Db.] If I even go, no. I won't go alone. [gonna drag her an ocean jesus at the very least.]

Definitely. The Emperor and Evandau are keeping things from us, and I don't like it one bit. Something stinks here...

Take me with you. I know the area better than you do [and have my own personal GPS thanks Scarab], even if I don't have the map anymore.

It's not something I'm particularly unused to, but it never stops being annoying.

[Pause.] Who are you? [She's not... exactly opposed. But. Strangers!!]

[Annnd he'll probably wait until they meet to admit to the whole superhero thing, if he needs to.]

Annabeth. I've been here almost a year now myself. But I appreciate the offer.

[She does, if only because he does know the exact location of the place, should she decide she wants to check it out. The superhero bit probably wouldn't faze her in either direction.]

Soooo... is that appreciation more of a 'yes, I'd appreciate the help, thanks' or a 'I'm gonna go on a reckless adventure'?

[Jaime vaguely wonders what the heck kind of vehicle she's implying (giant monster truck? enlarging super powers? private jet?) before answering.]

It's tucked away with trees and some of the paths are narrow, but unless you're driving a semi or something I think you'll be okay for most of the way.

Something as big as a rhino? For part of the way, I mean, since walking the paths seems like a thing.

No, not a rhino, just the size of one. It's a hellhound, actually. [Casual attempt at being casual over this.] Though she's not technically mine.

Soooo... I suppose I shouldn't bother asking where you got that one, instead.

[But that's enough to reassure him that they'll be okay. Jaime mumbles a quick "hang on", rummages through his stuff, and comes up with a copy of the map that he then holds up to the camera.]

She showed up on the mainland, in Atam, but she's from home.
