[The feed turns on to show Korra, smiling a deviously broad smile (those who know her probably know that smile means she’s up to something) and she holds a finger up to her lips before she whispers.]

Okay you guys. I need you to tell Mako that the network doesn’t actually bite and he can use it to talk to people.

[Then she turns around and happily exclaims:] Oh good, the tea’s ready. Thanks, Mako. See, isn’t he a gracious host? [That grin she has on is sinful.]

W-- Korra, turn that off.

[he sets the tray down pointedly, looking between her and the console, obviously caught off guard and not sure what to do]

In a minute. [Not even a minute, she fully plans to keep it on as long as possible.] Why don't you come over here and try it? [Not that she's giving him a choice since she's taking both cups of tea over to the console.]

I already told you I know how to use it. [he sits down, and focuses on her] We could've kept this conversation between us, c'mon, turn it off.

[and then he turns to the camera to give it an Intense Mako Stare (tm).]

We were talking about the network, so we should include the network. [She says it like it's the most practical, logical thing in the world.] So anyone who doesn't know, I'm Korra and this is Mako. He's been here for months but none of you probably recognize him because he never uses the network. So feel free to say hi to him! [Totally treating him like a new arrival. She's not sorry at all. Feel free to bug Korra too.]

Uh... so, anyone got any plans for the New Year's?

[yeah, he's trying to be more sociable for the moment. But, it's kind of obvious that this post was not meant for everyone on the network. He just felt kind of awkward. He's switching feeds now.]

[Basic Encryption; Locked to Legend of Korra and ATLA casts-- sans Amon, because seriously.]

Okay, so. I'm not sure how much everyone's noticed that there are no sports here, but there basically isn't. And with Bo being back, and all the Fire Ferrets together, we have enough people to form at least two teams for a pro-bending match, maybe three. Asami knows the rules of the game, and she could ref for us.

I'm not really suggesting we make a pro-bending league or regular habit out of it, but if we did a match, it might give either the other foreigners or the Kedan an idea or two.

And New Year's is probably the best time to do it.

So, anyone in?

[Basic Encryption; Locked to Korra]

Hey... How are you doing...?

[This is Asami. This is Asami wrapped up like an enchilada in a thick, dark red blanket while she faces the screen. It's her first time with a recording like this—the technology is beyond even the movers Varrick produced—so she proceeds self-consciously.

That isn't to say she wasn't eager to try it out. The tape on the side of her console is indication of that, but it's out of sight of the viewer.]

Well, here I am. I've had some time to think about what I wanted to say, but to be honest I don't even know where to begin.

But we're all comrades here, right? So my name's Asami, and I'm a... [businesswoman? What kind of sales approach is that? She straightens her back.] I'm the chief executive officer of my family's company at home in Republic City. We're known for our automobiles and weaponry, and I have experience with each of our products. Not that I see myself getting comfortable here, but if I can make myself useful in a company running somewhere along those lines, then I think that would be a good place to start.

[She visibly deflates after the spiel, mustering a small smile.] So I guess I'll see you guys around! Go ahead and introduce yourselves if you have time. I think I could use some faces to call familiar.

[Fire sector may notice a slight dip in temperature within the past few hours. Whoops.

A war? Elsa had no intention of fighting a war. Not after what she had just been through. And she can’t help but feel as if she’s being used as some weapon, some ultimate means to an end, and while her ‘hosts’ had been kind enough to explain everything to her it didn’t ease her feelings of discomfort at all.

She had spent most of her first day getting used to her surroundings, trying to get accustomed to the computer interface(A few keys had gotten stuck to her icy fingers, but she managed with some warm water), searching through messages. Always adapt, that was a part of being a queen wasn’t it?

There’s a small sigh of relief when she doesn’t see her sister or anyone else she cared about among the messages posted up. There was Prince Hans, but she had tried to deal with that accordingly.

Still, she’s in a foreign place all by herself. It’s time to do the queenly thing—right?

Video flips on and she shows a bit of surprise before relaxing and speaking.
]

Hello, I’m Queen Elsa of Arendelle. [She had thought about hiding her title or where she was from, but Hans had decided to announce himself to the network, it’d be far too difficult to try and cover up her own identity. She won't be mentioning the ice powers quite yet, though. Call it a force of habit.] I’m new here and could use some guidance, particularly when it comes to finding a job.

[How does I shot job hunt? Now she’ll warm up with a smile. It’s genuine, not forced, though may a touch of tiredness will hit it.]

Also, there are so many people here from places and times I’ve never heard of, I would love to hear more about every one of you.

[That’s… not even lip service. She’d been so confined to one place in her life, that now she was curious beyond reason, wanting to hear more about everything. And once she got home, because she would get home, she could tell Anna about it.]

I hope to hear from some of you very soon. Good day.

[And after a graceful curtsy, the feed cuts off.]

[There was an older man seated at the console, still in an apron.]

Hello. Those kedan weren’t kidding when they told me what this box does, were they? Well, it’s nice to meet my neighbors, though I hope you won’t mind me saying that I’d rather see you all in person. If I had the food, I might even host my own personal welcome-party!

[Iroh laughs]

If anyone has any favorite restaurants or tea shops, I would love to hear about them. Or a pai sho board. Mine is back home, and I don’t think I’ll be getting use of it any time soon.

[filtering? He knows, theoretically how to do that. But it'll take a few times of the wrong person seeing the post before it clicks that that's really a thing you should do.

also. one more in between the stream of intros]

Hey, I'm looking for someone named Jack.

[Also. How common could that name be? It was weird as hell.]

[The last thing he remembered was Mako yelling something in his direction, the kaiju raising a claw for his head. Then he was on the floor, wet and cold and told point blank something about a turtle (BS.) something about the land between the living and the dead (more BS) and told point blank to fend for himself.

In essence. That's what he heard. It's not entirely clear. His brain is a mix of Yancy and Mako twisting into one face that's beyond his saving.

He needs 24 hours. Something to eat. Some place to sleep. The place could easily pass for Hong Kong's boneslum. That's sort of familiar but there's no wall, there's no air of decay..]

Are those guys always that friendly? [He snorts] Sorry I was so rude guys. I was in the middle of a fight for my life and the lives of my friends and planet. Not too thrilled about getting grabbed.

[He doesn't look good either. I mean judging from a baseline human standard of you shouldn't be pale and wearing armor like that. He is in essence wearing armor.]

Can anybody tell me where the fire district is? And after that where I can get something to eat and something - [beat] something else to wear.

I've got [He reaches into a plain black bag hoping for money and coming up with this. It falls against the console and makes a loud squeak.]

...What's really going on here? I mean really.

[Annabeth's face pops up, curls a mess as usual, but considering the turtle developments, she doesn't look nearly as cross as usual?? There's the sounds of water splashing around somewhere in the suite, but she doesn't appear to care.]

It goes without saying that the turtle's health started improving at last. [Because powers! And it's swimming again!] I know various numbers of us were tasked by Evandau into investigations, and I don't know how all the other situations turned out, but Doctor Soranik Natu, Rogue, Percy Jackson, and myself found something probably worth sharing.

We were assigned with investigating a string of robberies initially, but really, the important part is we discovered a series of incomplete archways in several different homes and attempted to recreate one in its entirety.

The whole "world between Life, Death, and Dreaming" thing everyone gets on arrival? Start taking it literally, if you weren't before. Keeliai as we live in it here is the Life plane. The archway opened up a portal of a kind, and said portal took us to the Death plane.

[A blob of water floats across the screen, blurring Annabeth's face, but it's still possible to see her turn around in a huff, and from somewhere off screen there's an "Oops, sorry!" before the water flies off. She continues unperturbed.]

It was basically a version of Keeliai gone awry and ruined, everything rotting away, and we found markings in the form of some kind of blood magic, directly over where the Emperor's Palace is in this plane. Scans proved it to be kedan blood in origin, some of it fresh, and the pattern was being drawn by - you know, what we're here to fight, in a magical attempt to kill Tu Vishan. We were able to wipe the incomplete blood slate clean and stop this part of his illness before leaving the plane. [By 'we' she mostly means Ocean Jesus did A Water Thing.]

Unfortunately, or fortunately, the way in seems to be gone. The archways all disappeared once we got back, as did that particular methodology in creating them. [Melted pins ahh. A pause.] The Death plane is probably where our infamous threat is hiding. Its domain, so to speak.

Tu Vishan's health is picking up, but this - this situation here, with this thing we're up against? It's definitely not over.

[when the console clicks on, it doesn't look like the guy messing with it really expected it to. He was pressing buttons, finding out what the options where. his experience with cameras is also very, very limited. He presses the button again, and it switches off and to text.]

i'm new around here. not sure who this goes out to, but can someone tell me where i can find a news paper, or a job listings page? i'd appreciate it.

[there's a long, long pause, before he decides to add something else, this time switching it to video again. He seems to have figured out the camera, though he's still giving the camera a mostly apprehensive look]

Also, who checks these things? Do they go out to the whole city?

[a sigh, a bit annoyed, whether with the situation or his lack of understanding on what's going on with this form of mass communication is anyone's guess]

I'm Mako, if there's anyone listening.
