Guys, we need a school.

And not JUST because I've been stuck in Turtle-opolis for almost six months and I'm seriously behind in my studies. [She cycles through six different half-grumpy, half teasing faces before she assumes a more serious face.] I know people have been offering to teach self defense and magic and stuff like that, but it's not -- look, it's what we need to be doing.

Educating ourselves is how we prepare for stuff like -- you know, the thing that we have to prepare for.

Obviously, I'd mostly just be a student. I think most of the people who can teach valuable skills already are, but they could afford to be more coordinated. That means we need a Headmaster. Any volunteers?

[She clears her throat and steps back from the camera, revealing half her apartment to be covered with notes about something -- presumably this project.] Oh, yeah, I have a preliminary curriculum, lemme know what you think.

Lessee, we got... Self Defense, English, Kedan Language and Culture, Computer Science, Magic, Physics and how not to introduce stupid invasive furballs into the ecosystem.

Ahem. I mean Newcomer Orientation. Obviously there's not enough of us to really do levels or whatever, but come on. Let's get on it!

Yes, I think a school would be a brilliant idea or if not a centralized location for one some sort of coordinated efforts that allow for offering an education.

I hadn't thought about that before, but yes, some sort of school would be a good idea. [All you teenagers need something productive to do instead of troublemaking.]

I've got no experience with schools other than the fact that I attended one, but as far as coordination goes I've been head of a city council before.

Marking stuff up for what's good and what needs improvement, yeah, you'll probably have to do that, but there aren't gonna be any GPA's or anything. [Is that a hint of wistfulness in her voice?]

I've been trying to do this, but it's hard. People don't really like being organized. I know some people to teach training, journalism and English, and some other basic stuff.

The first step, really, is finding a building we can use.

Yeah, well they can get over it because we need to be doing this. It's not just about 'the future' in general, it's about being ready for what we already explicitly know is coming.

Yeah, that'd help. I guess we gotta petition the Emperor about that, right?

This goes a bit beyond the scope of what you mention here admittedly, but on a personal, and somewhat selfish level... Something dealing with the legal system here and how it functions as a whole. I was reading law before I came here...

At least half of his classes were missed due to his late nights writing pamphlets, studying matters of more importance and days spent recruiting or in other work he actually deemed important but...He has the basics. And well, he had anticipated taking it seriously after there was a republic. Now that he is somewhere there is not, things have changed considerably.]

Perhaps something along the way of preparing those with similar backgrounds to mine to begin some sort of a legal practice here. We have been given a code of laws, but even so. How would one mount a defense on many of these things when they are so different? I would not have anyone subjected to an unfair judgement or trial simply because those who may have helped them were entirely unprepared.

Are there any here who know that law well enough, becomes a better question, but if they do exist perhaps that may be worth pursuing as a type of add on as well.

law school, huh? I think that's something for you and a few friends to look into. Make sure we have a few lawyers around in case someone needs them. [Not her first choice, but useful.] You can talk to Tarrlok and use the schools grounds and resources for it, though.

I would be able to teach various science subjects, though the language barrier will cause some difficulty with some materials. [Read: Math? Formulas? Anything that needs to be written down? It's all going to have to be oral.

He's seen English on the network. While gaining some level of proficiency would help, it likely wouldn't be especially helpful in this particular case. It would still be useful to know, however.

Teaching would be a good use of his time. It's going to take quite some time to work towards anything even remotely approaching Kryptonian technology.]

I'm serious, there's like, three thousand teenagers in this place with no experience looking after themselves. My friend nearly starved before I showed up, and it wasn't just because of the rations.
