[It's about midday when Shayera turns on the comm, sitting in the comforts of her suite in the Earth Sector. Her expression is her default serious, and her overall demeanor shows she means business, despite feeling a tad unusual about making a public appearance that's not in person. But that aside, she knows that she has something that needs to be said, and a little awkwardness isn't going to stop her.] My name is Shayera Hol. Most of you probably don't know me, but that's not the point here. I'm here to talk about training for self-defense in battle.

[She leans back in her chair to get comfortable, arms crossed as she speaks.] I know there's been a few other posts about this, but having more offers doesn't hurt things. A-- [There's a brief hesitation as she decides which word best describes Kyle. He said family, but... she never agreed to that.] friend of mine brought it to my attention that there are people here who need to know how to fight. There's things here that can kill, and people should be prepared to defend themselves against them should the need arise. I'm a pretty competent fighter, so don't worry about me knowing what I'm doing.

[Then there's the fact that there's teenagers here, and they're really going to need help unless they have some form of fighting on their own.] Even if you have your own powers or whatnot, knowing how to fight is still crucial. I'd be willing to help anybody out, so just give me a call, or come to my apartment, EA-2C. I'll be starting the lessons in a couple of weeks, if nothing unexpected pops up.

[Once that's been taken care of, she fixes up a filter to the two Kyle told her about.] The little ball of sunshine told me about you two in particular needing training, so don't expect to get out of it. If you've got any questions, feel free to drop by.

Friend of my dad's. Screams almost as loud as he does. Kind of tall--[Compared to her, at least]--blonde, hangs around archers with a strange obsession with the color green.

[She wants to see if that rings any bells before she starts giving away names.]

Black Canary, huh? [Not surprising. Girl kicks ass.] She's one tough fighter, I'll take that as a compliment.

So you do know her. I was wondering.

[Which meant that this was definitely an ally of the League. Probably not from her world, though, or else she would have said something by now. Kyle's, maybe?]

It is a compliment. A little birdie told me he took down Superboy in less than ten seconds. Without breaking a sweat.

Not personally, but I have seen her in action. [And a certain archer seems to be attached to her at the hip.] Superboy... is that Superman's partner? So that means she took down a Kryptonian. Impressive.

[Not personally? Weren't they in the League together? And why did she seem so confused at the mention of Superboy.]

Not...exactly.

You mean you've never heard of Superboy?

No, I haven't. I know some of the League members have young partners, but I never met or heard about them much. [Some what she has heard, they seem like a pretty big deal.]

[Now that was interesting.]

Which ones do you know about?

I heard mention of Robin, Aqualad, and Speedy. [She'll never know who thought that name was a good idea.]

[Familiar names, if you ignore the part where Speedy hadn't been Speedy since before she joined the team. And a lot fewer than she had been expecting.]

You're...not from the same world as Kyle and the others, are you?

[She shakes her head, starting to feel somewhat lonely that she's the only one from her universe here.] No. It sounds like I'm from a completely different one from everyone here.

Weird.

[She had just been getting used to the idea of there being parallel words. But three of them? How many others were there?]

So in your world...there's no Kid Flash or Miss Martian either?

[Apparently, 52.] No, just the regular adult Flash. I have met Kid Flash here, though.

But... Miss Martian? J'onn said he was the last Martian.

Not in the world I'm from. Miss Martian's his niece.

[There was one other name on her mind, and she couldn't keep herself from asking no matter how much she was dreading the answer:]

What about Giovanni Zatara? Is he...still with the League?

[Yeah, the J'onn from her world would flip at that, considering how much he loved his family.] That's.. hard to grasp.

[She takes a minute to think on that, before shaking her head slowly.] Sorry, I don't know anyone by that name, he's never been with the League. There's Zatanna Zatara, I'm pretty sure she's his daughter.

[She raised a hand, smiling faintly. Hi.]

Only daughter, actually.

[... oh. Well then.] A little... younger than I remember.

Yeah, I get that a lot.

And, I have to say...never gets any weirder to hear.

[She understands what Zatanna means, but on a smaller level. They just kept mistaking her for someone else.] If it helps at all, I don't really mind. You seemed perfectly fine in my world, and you do now.

[...if Zatanna could read thoughts, she would be tempted to accuse Shayera of making a height joke somewhere in there.]

[Still, she takes the compliment where it lays, and offers a friendly smile in return.]

I'd like to say the same, but honestly, I'm not even too sure if you're the same person from my world I'm thinking of. She always wears a helmet over her face, and we've never met in-person.

[Shayera is not the funny one of the League, Zatanna, trust her on that.

She does show a hint of surprise at hearing about the other her.] She does? [Things must be better for her.] I put my mask down a while ago.

[For now, yes. They might actually have been.]

Why?

Oh, you know. [A casual shrug.] Personal reasons.

[She knows she shouldn't ask. 'Personal reasons' was usually code for 'I don't want to talk about it'...but even when she recognized the Rules, that didn't always meant she followed them.]

Did you and Hawkman fight?

[Literally the only thing she could think of; in her world, the Hawk couple were rarely, if ever, seen apart.]

Hawkman? [Oh yeah, doesn't she work really well with him in other universes?] No, we're not that close. [Hah, yeah, best way to put it.] I just... some things happened with Thanagar, and I chose it would be best not to wear it anymore.

[Granted, not the biggest reveal that could ever be made. But still pretty surprising, considering.]

It's official. Every world that isn't ours is just weird.
