[ To those most familiar with human coloring, the woman in the video may look a little odd. She’s got red skin, black hair, and eyes that glow yellow where her pupils should be. She’s also noticeably more muscular than the average woman. Bigger, too. She fills up the screen, leaving relatively little to see behind her.

Judging from the frown that twists her black lips, she isn’t particularly happy. ]

All right. It’s been three days. The guys that brought me here promised me a fight. A “strong” — [ The quotation marks are audible, as is the faint sneer of disbelief when she says the word. ] — enemy.

So where is it? I’m bored.

Ghosts altering their tangibility should really not be the point where you can no longer engage in suspension of disbelief.

I've dealt with ghosts before.

[ But that was a bad time, so she's not going to think about it. She's also going to try to be patient with this kid. For a few minutes, anyway. ]

Maybe these things aren't really them.

Maybe they are magical ghosts.

[ Pfff, someone here clearly doesn't understand spirits. ]

Odin's beard, woman, you are making it hard for me to be a proper guide to things that you may beat upon.

[ Oh. Is that what he is? She brightens. ]

Is there something else? Or are ghosts all you've got? I'll take them if they are.

We'll have to see what we can find for you. There's a very wide variety of the powerful sort milling about, perhaps you can beat upon one of the burlier of our number.

It'll be fun.

And what you do get out of it?

Entertainment, mostly. I am bored. I have not been here long, but this place doesn't live up to expectations.

[ A little bit of alarm flickers across his features, and he says what comes next as if he's phrasing it very carefully. ]

I'll tell you, but you have to promise not to hit me if you see me about, no matter what other versions of me may have done in the past.

[ That's not the sort of reaction she's expecting. It's intriguing, even if it's a hint that she's probably going to want to hit him. ]

I promise I won't hit you for what might have happened in the past.

[ What he might do in the future, however, is fair game. ]

Or... or kick, for that matter. No kicking.

[ He holds up his hands in a mollifying manner. ]

Loki of Asgard, God of Mischief. Good version, though. Adorable and winsome, not old and wicked and stabby. There are many universes, and I am but one singular fairly harmless me.

[ There is absolutely nothing shameful about letting his fear of large, muscular women show. This is just entirely reasonable. ]

[ She considers that for a moment. ]

Loki aided us in the war against the Serpent.

[ And was partially responsible for it happening in the first place. But whatever. Bygones. She's a Hulk. Her room to be judgmental about bad decisions is pretty small. ]

I won't kick you either. But I'm not giving Odin back the sword. It's mine. Understood?

I am a very helpful person, and one that is not even remotely suicidal. Enjoy the sword, doubly so if old One-Eye might want it back.

[ Okay. She likes him. ]

So does being the God of Mischief mean that you know how to have fun?

That's a matter of debate. I find all kinds of fun to have, usually.

[ He shrugs faintly. ] It's other people that don't appreciate it.

I'm a Hulk, kid. No one appreciates my idea of fun either.

It's the curse of being interesting. Everyone just thinks the worst of people that shake things up, but change is good for everyone regardless.

[ Even Hulk-themed change, as long as that change doesn't hurt him in the process. ]

[undoubtable]

[ That makes her smile. Change has been good for her. She's free now. ]

I think so too. And this place could use a shake. I'm used to other dimensions being a little more exciting than this.

I know what you mean! Most dimensions, there's always something that tries to rip you to tiny pieces. It makes you keep a good pace.

But here? Here is a world without breakfast meats, and now the only real option is to go get drunk off of wine provided by ghosts that refuse to serve minors. Oh, and here are a bunch of people from a variety of other Earths that my alternates have personally wronged. Hurrah for the turtleworld.

[ She hasn't encountered the lack of sufficient breakfast food yet. She's been too busy to worry about food. Now, though, it gives her pause. ]

What are we supposed to eat? Noodles?

[ Her nose wrinkles. Hulks are not vegetarians. ]

Pastries, alien seafood, pizzas that are not so much pizza as floury flats covered in things I do not recognize.

I really need to do something about this lack of Midgardian food.

Have you tried any of it? It might not be bad.

[ She's also had to eat giant bugs. Her opinion might not count. ]

But that would work directly against my urge to be unreasonable and recalcitrant. The resident Norse god will live on a diet of pastries and milk in protest!
