[It's been over twenty-four hours since Skulduggery was brought back to life, and it doesn't seem like that's going to fade any time soon. He should be worried, or possibly angry, or at the very least unhappy and unsettled. But, due to reasons Skulduggery's trying not to think about, he's cheerful.

Hello. This is Skulduggery Pleasant. Some of you may have noticed a distinct lack of well-dressed skeletons in Keeliai and possibly feared the worst, but I can assure you, I'm still here.

[His voice sounds different. Recognisable, especially by the accent, and still smooth - but it's less unnaturally smooth, and more like a voice belonging to someone who's just gotten over a bad cold.]

If anyone sees a young man in a cowboy hat and a long duster coat, long hair in a ponytail, carrying a shotgun - first of all, be careful, because he's much more powerful than he looks. Second of all, please let me know. I suspect he's new, and ever-so-slightly confused about where he is. Thank you.

Monday 7/27:
Drizzle in the morning, partial cloud cover and mist in the afternoon. Weather remains oppressively muggy into the evening.

Tuesday 7/28
Clear morning, humidity high. Afternoon saw brief showers and continued to be hot and humid.

Wednesday 7/29
Humidity cleared a bit around mid afternoon, though the heat continues.

Thursday 7/30
Clear skies though the wind appears to have picked up – somewhat of a respite from the constant heat that remains high from dawn till dusk.

Friday 7/31
Low humidity and constant heat. Winds appear to be blowing from the east now. Odd.

Saturday 8/1
Temperatures have broke into triple digits and the winds shift direction constantly. Though the breezes are welcome, this is an odd pattern.

Sunday 8/2
Sweltering hot and very dry. I don't think these begonias are going to make it without some aid.

Ah, yes. To make this a bit less dry, I've decided to add some gardening tips. So three good ones today.

• Grind eggshells into a powder when using them for compost. It makes the calcium much easier for the plants to absorb.
• A great way for starting off a seedling is to put it in a hollowed out citrus peel (such as from an orange or lemon), fill it in with soil and then plant it. The peel will compost nicely, giving the seedling an excellent start. Remember to poke holes in the peel for proper drainage.

A note: Eggshells make excellent starter pots as well for seedlings when the weather doesn't permit outdoor growth. The extra calcium works wonders for nourishing our small friends.

• You can grow roses from trimmings. A marvelous way to do this is to stick the trimming into a potato and plant it.
• And a bonus tip for farmers among us, since I noted squash and gourds are major crops. The weather has been hot and dry for the past few days and rain has been infrequent at best. One of the gentlemen at my gardening club uses a method where a pot filled with holes is planted in the center of the garden and filled with water. This makes it easier for the water to reach the deeper roots from squash plants and it isn't wasted by evaporating in the heat.

[Audio only is rare for Toph. Usually she doesn't even bother to toggle the settings; it doesn't matter to her whether she's seen or not. But today, right now . . . it's audio only, and her words come out hard and flat.]

Last night I had a dream. About a kid with a woman who was teaching him to earthbend. He pretty much sucked at it.

He was wearing a soul gem.

[There's a pause. For a long moment she says nothing else. But the silence is almost tangible in its thickness.]

He was home. My home.

[There's an undercurrent that runs through the words here, dark and weighted.]

[It's rage.]



((ooc: Toph can only "see" through seismic sense, so although she dreams, she still doesn't see images in the traditional sense -- and can't see color. So for ooc puzzlings, I shall pass on that the boy's hair shifted colors in the dream in case it's important and matches up with anything else.))
