 [Kitty has spent most of her day trying to find out as much as possible since getting fished out of the ocean- but at the end of it, the kedan were amazingly unhelpful, there, before depositing her in her 'suite'. It's in a tree! She spent a bit of time exploring it thoroughly, since a part of her, Wolf, was comforted to an extent by this, somewhat more than she would expect, but now that that's over, it's time to get to finding out what exactly is going on.  So, to the console! Research is always helpful, as is poking out on your own...

She hesitates at first, but given the option, she'll always go with audio- she doesn't really feel up to video right now- even though it's been years since she's resolutely avoided the idea of being on camera, and going with something similarly familiar will definitely help.

Her voice sounds nice, relatively calm, and very present- definitely belongs to someone used to working on the audio side of things.]

Are we really on some kind of mystical between-states island sized turtle with a city on its back? [A very short pause of consideration.] I guess that  question marks me as new, doesn't it? Does anyone have any more information than what the kedan say? They weren't really helpful on that topic.

If we had a penny--or what passes for it here--for every time one of us has said that the kedan weren't helpful, we'd all be rich as Croesus.

[Mentally, Kitty's ears prick at the reference. English major type response-- at least on her part. Tolstoy.] That often, huh? I'm not sure I'd want the problems that Croesus ended up with, though; I think I already have enough as it is. [Like being stuck on a giant turtle.]

[If that doesn't count as a big deal, Kitty has some sympathy for this lady.] I'd be wondering where the ancient Persians came from. [And then research it. And then organize a crack support team. And hope nothing terrible comes out of it.]

Um. [She needs to write down lists of "what Steph knows" and "what Batgirl knows" this shit is hard] Well for starters, not all of us here are dead. The kedan are shapeshifters, if you haven't seen 'em do that already. The police force is permitted to use lethal force and is willing to recruit civilians to help fight.

[she sounds a little bitter on that last one. welp] The water's nice this time of year?

And the bulk of the extra information is, apparently we're here to save this world. Some of the local population don't really think we can pull that off.

The turtle's real, but I don't by the between-states thing. [Ororo scoffs at the idea of this being her afterlife.] A dream I could buy, maybe. But I'd have to ask what was in those cookies I had before bed.
