[Catty is looking totally relaxed, leaning forward with her elbows on the desk, and her chin resting on her hands]

Hey, so, I can timetravel. [Yup just slamming that out there] And even though it's gone super weird here and I can't touch anything when I got back, or even have anyone notice me, it's still good for overhearing things. [A beat] Which, um, I haven't done to anyone here. So you know.

But I was thinking, there has to be some point in the past where things related to us were discussed, right? And if no one can see or hear us...well, we might be able to find out something interesting. Or important.

[She sucks in a breath, straightening] But I don't want to keep this to myself. So I'm asking for volunteers who don't mind stepping into a tunnel between space and time and exploring history. Vanessa'll tell you that it smells like cabbage, but she's kind of finicky. It's totally safe, and it doesn't smell bad at all, I promise. [yes it does] I think I'll be able to take four people back? My only real thing is that, if you come, you have to share what you find. It's not fair, otherwise.

[She gives a casual salute] Okay, Catty out! Just let me know if you're interested, okay?

So it's just going back and watching? You can't affect anything back there in any way?

[Hey, it's the green guy! She shakes her head] Nope, not anymore. Don't know why, don't know how. Either way, I spent my whole life doing this, I know what I'm up to.

It may have something to do with being in another world. Or maybe turtle-magic. [He frowns a moment.] Or even our mysterious M-named non-friend.

Yeah, back home I couldn't change things that were like, destined to happen. Maybe in this world, Fate's just really rigid about who gets timetravel donuts. [Catty let go of the donuts you can just go and buy some normally]

[Victor just stares for a moment.] Time travel donuts?

You time travel with donuts?

[She laughs, totally delighted] No! I just mean - I was hungry the last time I went back. But I couldn't even change a little thing like buying donuts to eat.

[And cue Victor looking a little embarrassed.] Oh, well at least you could still get donuts in the present, right?

I could! But it's the principle of the matter, you know? Food from the past always tastes better. [No it doesn't Catty shut up]

Really? I always figured future food would taste better and past food would be kind of old and musty.

Having tried future food, I don't think. But past food tastes better than present food because you're not supposed to be eating it. [Catty you are making this up]

Is future food bad? [He pauses and then laughs.] Oh, the 'sneaking ice cream at midnight tastes better than ice cream after dinner' way of thinking.

You know, I don't think I actually ever tried future food. Going to the future's a lot weirder, for a start. But yeah, that's pretty much why.

Really? Plan on trying it now? And yeah, future travel being weirder makes sense since I guess you're only going to one of many possible futures and technically the act of going to the future might mean that one won't happen anymore when you return to your present. [He shakes his head.] I've got a friend back home who thinks the same way. She's tried to recruit me for midnight ice cream raids in the past.
