002 | Video

[So someone forgot in the midst of all the exploring and socializing that he should have been making preparations for his bi-monthly maintenance.

It was this guy, right here. Time flies when you're having fun.

He pops on the feed, looking a bit nervous.]

Hello again. I have an urgent request for whoever can help me. I was not particularly forward with the information that I am an android, in part because of my concern at being treated as less than an average individual. However, I have come to regret that as I have a service of maintenance that I require within the next two days, and I did not think to prepare for this preemptively.

My system requires replenishing of a hydraulic fluid that works most similarly with how the human system needs blood. I have to do this every two weeks to remain fully functional. I am not certain if anyone can take a sample and replicate it, but this is my request.

Otherwise, while my power can never run out and I can never die, I will lose mobility and possibly malfunction in other ways.

If anyone is capable of assisting, I would be indebted to you and am willing to provide my services in whatever fashion you may require. I hope for the best. [David gives a troubled smile before ending the video.]

[[ooc: now featuring plotting post for the scientists that are getting involved.]]

...Um...[UM? OH GOD he wasn't trained for this he really isn't trained for this sophie didn't need things!

Sophie could also dissolve herself into component particles and hitch rides with everyone this is a bad comparison.]

I...I probably can't be of any help with the fluid, but if you need help getting around while it getting sorted out I'd be more than willing to.
heartofgraces: (And I want you to know)

[personal profile] heartofgraces 2013-09-14 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
A. Whee--no I should be able to carry you just fine.

[He thinks there is something kind of wrong about pushing David around in a wheelbarrow.]
heartofgraces: (That my feelings are true)

[personal profile] heartofgraces 2013-09-14 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
I can manage, don't worry about that.
heartofgraces: (Oh I've been wandering 'round)

[personal profile] heartofgraces 2013-09-16 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course. I'm happy to help out however I can.

Oh gosh! You should talk to Mr. Stark. I don't think there's anything mechanical he can't fix.

[Nita is worried, but not too worried, because Tony.]
littlecousin: (you should try not being a jerk)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2013-09-14 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, either of them would be fine. The one who lives in Metal is from my universe, but they're both super-smart.

[Nita really can't quantify it much beyond that, because she's bright, but nowhere near Tony's league and wouldn't be able to tell if one of them had the edge on the other.]

[personal profile] littlecousin 2013-09-15 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Not that he wouldn't help anyway, but tell him I sent you.

[Tony falls squarely into two demographics who have a hard time saying no to Nita: people who think she's hot, and people who don't want to piss off her cousin.]

[Nita is not in possession of wiles. Not one single wile.]

Oh, good. Let me know if there's any way I can help, huh?
littlecousin: (nita‚ show 'em what they've won)

Mr. Stark's brilliant. It'll work out.

[Nita likes presents!]

What's "other ways" supposed to mean?

[Ororo's got no hope in turtle hell of, erm, servicing a mandroid, but she's got questions about it.]

You'd become a vegetable? Lame.

[She ponders leaving it as is, because she? Yeah. No. Engineer and mechanic she is NOT.]

There any kind of substitute fluid or whatever I could bring by?

[WAY over her head. Ororo's only experience with fluids and, erm, hydraulics would be flushing the plumbing, as it were.]

So much for the Tin Man cure.

[A pause.]

Wait. If you're an android, how come you don't know what all you're made up of? Wouldn't that be, like, programmed into you or something?

[The huff of a sigh. She's rolling her eyes too, for the record.]

Figured that a built-in manual'd be out of the question too.

I'm no engineer or mechanic or whatever, but I'll ask around for ya.

I can take a sample, if you will allow me.

[What. Nobody has actually offered, this far.]

... the main building of Wayne Enterprises in Metal sector. If you give me an ETA, I shall meet you, but if that fails, ask for Damian Wayne.
demon_brat: (Winter of our discontent (Dami))

video; Sounds good to me!

[personal profile] demon_brat 2013-09-17 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
That is a reasonable request. [Damian might be bristling a little, but he knows that it is.] If nothing else, people disappear from here with no warning. It would not do to put all the information only into one potential source only to have the vanish on you before they are done.

[personal profile] demon_brat 2013-09-17 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yes, well. Damian was a little ray of sunshine, basically.]

Whenever you are ready.

[And disconnect. More or less. While keeping an eye on what else is discussed.]

[personal profile] definingfuture 2013-09-15 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, we can't have people in need of transfusions. That would be embarrassing.

[There is concern there. He just wants to keep calm.]

I don't know them personally, but the company is a big presence here. If they're offering help, it probably couldn't hurt.

That said, if you want me to take a look, I can do that too. It sounds straightforward enough.
definingfuture: (T - And this fucking thing.)

[personal profile] definingfuture 2013-09-25 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
I like group efforts. They work just fine.

But I do my best work alone. No offense to anyone else. I just like to keep things from getting out of hand. [That isn't a great way to explain, but Tony is particular about his tech.]

I'm familiar with a system of a similar nature, actually, although it takes much longer than two weeks for it to fail. Given a sample and time, I don't see why I couldn't come up with an acceptable substitute.

( shockwave understands the urgency, even if the energon that powers shockwave won't run dry for a few months yet. )

( researching alternate forms of energy is what shockwave does best and since nothing about what he's described makes it seem like the liquid is naturally occurring, it shouldn't be a problem. )

I just so happen to work at Wayne Enterprises - that would work out wonderfully.
