05 ☣ TEXT & VOICE;

Looking to gather some info. Please respond with succinct list of what you would consider unalterable laws of reality in your home dimension, e.g. gravity, conservation of mass, particular laws of magic.

Will attempt to compile results into meaningful commonalities across dimensions. Maybe there's a universal law somewhere.

Would prefer text response if possible. Thanks.

Finally got fed up with everyone talking over my head and made a trade to see my future.

[A beat.

In utter, dry exasperation,]
You're all nuts. What kind of teamwork was that?

[ooc: Bruce is now post-Avengers! If you're not sure if you're established CR, ping me and I'll let you know if they're included, but feel free to play fast and loose.]

Gravity, conservation of mass, and thermodynamics all hold in my universe. What most seem to find jarring about my universe is eleth, a kind of elemental life energy produced by the core of a planet.

Some here seem to understand it as magic, and it is often easiest to explain it as such when there is so much we don't know or understand about it. At home, however, our researchers approach it in a scientific manner, through tests and experiments.

I've found it very similar to the energy that Asti provides in essence. When Asti began to lose energy, Keeliai took on a marked similarity to a planet I visited which had been depleted of almost all of its eleth.

[Does draining it in a moment of attempted world-destroying count?]

Most of my education was in its use rather than its mechanics. I am no expert. But I am reasonably familiar with it and have a base in much of the mathematics used to describe it.

[In other words, he would have been a science nerd if he didn't have to be a king instead.]

Certainly. I can give you a rundown of what I know that may be relevant.

[INSERT SOME MATH HERE. It takes him a while to try to recall everything from the top of his head. He annotates what he writes for Bruce so that Bruce can understand what he has actually written as someone not familiar with Ephinea. This is a basic equation re: loss of energy due to entropy in atmospheric eleth, these equations describe the extraction of eleth from cryas (see here how the stability of the cryas is signified? it varies based on element, with fire eleth the least stable and water eleth the most), with this we can describe how biological organisms use eleth for basic survival (and this section has a lot of notes, partly on how much of this hasn't been fully understood, but also on the way that different imbalances in eleth can physically affect the body, pointing to which parts of these equations will help you figure out what's going to go on with humans), this bit here talks a bit about how evolution is affected by the eleth and its relation to DNA (he apologizes, noting that he hasn't learned much about this), these equations describe how humans channel eleth for artes ('ways people take in atmospheric eleth or use personal eleth and transform it internally into a 'spell',' he explains for Bruce), this here is a bit about how eleth is directly converted from its atmospheric form into energy for machines (he notes here that his knowledge is rudimentary; his country is less technologically developed than its neighbours, and he is not an engineer), these equations here start out a very basic sketch of how the weather systems are determined by eleth—and this part, most developed even compared to his very detailed mathematics of channeling eleth, goes into the way you figure out output of wind eleth from a mechanical measure of the strength of the wind, and from there you can determine just how much eleth you'll have for your crops and your farm animals and how you work out just how far you can take that before you're overtaxing the land.

The joys of being an agricultural nation.]

Does that give you something to work with?

I imagined it might bear some similarity to the approaches you're familiar with. Approached as an energy source with as of yet unknown properties, I believe the magic here will prove responsive to the scientific mindset.
