Well I guess I can check 'get turned into a girl' off my list of things to do on the turtle.

[The voice is as deadpanned as it sounds as the feed flicks properly onto video. Instead of the gangly, awkward boy the citizens were introduced to a few weeks back, there is a young girl peering into the communicator. Hiccup shifts awkwardly, crossing her arms over her chest in a bit of embarrassment.]

I don't have to wear a skirt or anything, do I? [She pauses to brush her hair away from her eyes.] Ah, but...could someone braid my hair? It's a bit ridiculous and I've never really...ever done it myself.

Hey, we match! And of course you don't, unless you feel like it. Trust me, women requiring to wear skirts went out quite a while ago.

Well that's good. I don't think my tunic reaches down that far.

[ Jack laughs at the face that Hiccup is making. ]

It's really not that bad. Just weird... I had the same problem with my hair though.

Ugh, this is why I keep it short.

[She reaches up to tug at her hair.]

I'm not even supposed to have a braid yet!

Huh... when are you supposed to get one?

Whenever I kill my first dragon or get married.

[Pause before he shrugs. Tradition.]

Whichever comes first.

Well... I won't tell if you won't. Want some company?

Sure. I don't feel too mortified for company.

[They're in the same boat anyway, SO.]

Good to hear! I'll be over soon, gotta make a short stop somewhere first.

Okay. Um, I'm not going to go anywhere so, uh, I'll be in my suit.

[ It's about half an hour later and Jack knocks once again on Hiccup's suite door. He had to check on a few people who seemed to be having a harder time with their new states but it seemed all was (more or less) under control. His hair, now reaching halfway down his back, was messily tied into sections... enough that he could fly without having it go everywhere, at least. ]

Hey Hiccup, it's Jack!

[There's a small shuffle before the door opens, just a crack, and then it opened fully. Jack arrived just after Rapunzel left, so there's a noticeable change to his body shape now that he's wearing a bra, and his hair is tied back into a single, thick braid, aside from a small strand which he tucks behind an ear.]

Hey. Uh, c'mon in.

[ Jack's smile widens when he sees that Hiccup's already found some aid. Noting the uncertainty in the greeting, the spirit was even more determined to make the situation seem trivial, a fun diversion. ]

Seems like we've got a new thing to add into the welcome speech we give the new arrivals, huh? "Dear new chelonauts, please keep a spare set of alternate clothing on hand, just in case. And maybe one for becoming a little kid again. Sincerely, the welcoming committee."

That would have probably been a good warning, yeah. Being a kid wouldn't have been so bad but this is, um, awkward enough as it is.

[He rolls his eyes a little and gestures for Jack to come on in, hands going to his sides to fix his longer tunic.]

You just missed Rapunzel. She came by to, ah, help me out.

I'll write it into the next update. I don't think it's been updated in a while, Pepper has been pretty busy with personal stuff lately and she's technically the one in charge of it.

[ he ambles inside at the invitation ]

Ah, did I? I suppose if anyone was the one to ask about keeping hair out of trouble, right? But it looks like she did a little more than hair tips for you.

[He doesn't really know what in Odin's name Jack's babbling about right now (the heck was he talking about updates for? Hiccup certainly didn't need updating on the situation anymore), before he realizes it must be something you can watch or read over the network. He tugs a little at a lone curl of auburn hair that hangs to the side of his head, closing the door behind Jack.]

Well, I didn't know who else to ask. Korra told me some of the physical stuff but Rapunzel offered to...ah, y'know what? Nevermind.

[Hiccup pulls the braid so it's sitting over his shoulder, just to keep his head even and so it wouldn't feel like there was a heavy weight at the back.]

[ Jack chuckles, because that's pretty much how he feels. He's feeling rather lucky that physically he doesn't feel that different (though he wonders if that should worry him more than it does) and studies Hiccup's braid. ]

Wonder why we both got long hair...

[It's all a bit embarrassing for him to talk about. He's not even supposed to know these intimate details of a woman's body until marriage, never mind that the body is his own. Hiccup shrugs a little.]

Maybe it's something that happened when whoever caused this made it happen?

[He didn't know any other explanation.]

There's stories about Loki and Odin both turning into women but I never imagined it'd happen to me.
