seven : a scary conversation [AUDIO]
[Hayley sighs a little, then sounds mostly disappointed. Those paying close attention can probably tell it masks a level of anger.]
Seriously? Is no one talking about the whole people getting murdered thing?
[ooc: Action for Superman is in first thread]
[100% Trek encrypted to: Clark]
[There's the longest pause before she speaks, extremely quiet and definitely scared.]
So I, uh.. was dead.
[100% Trek encrypted to: Lois]
[Her voice is mostly level when she messages Lois, but clearly hiding something less neutral.]
I know you and Clark tell each other everything, so whatever. I need some time off from the radio.
[100% Trek encrypted to: Bruce Banner]
You need to see something. Can you come over later?
[100% Trek encrypted to: Dick Grayson (comics)]
You know, you never actually told me who your family members are.
[100% Trek encrypted to: Jason Todd]
Tell me you're not too busy for a drink.
[100% Trek encrypted to: Maxwell Lord]
[There's a pause, then Hayley sounds more pleasant.]
Hey.
[100% Trek encrypted to: Chekov]
Will you help teach me how to encrypt things? I want to learn.
[100% Trek encrypted to: Loki]
What makes a soul any different from just like, memories and neurons and whatever?
[100% Trek encrypted to: Jor-El] - (added a short while later)
You have all the same powers Superman does, right?
[100% Trek encrypted to: Bruce Wayne] - (added a short while later)
I'm sorry, about work. I just need a few more days off and then I'll come back. Please?
[Assume she hasn't shown up the last week or so.]
[100% Trek encrypted to: Sabriel] - (added a short while later)
I want to learn magic.

Video;
[He's quite clearly interested, but without the fervent, glass-eyed look that usually accompanies an excited interest or the dull, engrossed look of someone watching a newschannel marathon if a hunt for terrorists that they can't look away from the feed. The dismay is palpable.]
Why hasn't anyone been warning us?
audio;
I don't know. Maybe they didn't want to talk about it. You know now.
flips to audio; baseline encryption
Well, obviously. Going all "hey guys, 'member that time I got beat to death?" isn't exactly on my To Do List today. Or ever. But there's people here - like Supes - that I could've sworn would have posted something warning everyone by now. You're not some sort of uber-detective, are you?
audio; Trek encrypted 100%
No, I was just one of the casualties.
audio; Trek encrypted 100%
At least now everyone'll have their eyes open. [And someone will catch the guy, maybe she'll be able to have some closure.]
Are you OK now? Physically. [He's rolling with the assumption that she's Not OK mentally.] Do you need to go to the clinic? Do you have somewhere safe to stay?
audio; Trek encrypted 100%
I'm as good as new. [There's the smallest hint of humor in it, because she's pretty sure she's a clone of herself, which is a whole other issue to tackle. At the latter, she's a hint defensive. She's looking for somewhere, but she hates admitting to feeling unsafe in general.]
And.. I'm fine where I am.
Re: audio; Trek encrypted 100%
But he knows that 'fine' ... isn't fine. He's been fine too many times.]
If you say so. But my old place is sitting empty across the street. Lord lives in the building, but if he decides he wants to build body-possessing robots, how close you are probably won't matter. Even less appealing option: crashing with me and Tim. He's got extra room, but nobody wants to put up with Felix and Oscar.
audio; Trek encrypted 100%
Tempting, but I think I'll pass. Thanks for the offer though.
Re: audio; Trek encrypted 100%
[A beat.]
Man, this place throws the biggest monkey wrench ever into the whole Good Guy business. Check in every once in awhile? Please? I'm kinda freaking out now.
audio; Trek encrypted 100%
[She tries to keep the anger from her tone, knowing it's misplaced, but her voice is still edged with her frustration at first. After the briefest of sighs, she sounds simply weary again.]
If you send me a message, I'll answer, but no promises I'll remember to check in.
Re: audio; Trek encrypted 100%
[... He's really not a fan of secrecy. Or irony, and irony is currently beating him in the face with a crowbar.]
Fine. I will.
[He'll also keep an eye out for her in the city. If she doesn't answer his pings, she told him who she works for. It's a small turtle, for a speedster.]
audio; Trek encrypted 100%
Okay. [She replies with feigned defensiveness, as if they're arguing about the matter. Hayley has three jobs and few know where her actual suite is; she's not too worried about being too busy to remember to keep in touch, but she can't deny the appeal of more people looking out for her. Especially after this.]
Re: audio; Trek encrypted 100%
Anyway. If you did pay attention, you'd know from the first time I posted that I'm pretty quick. I'm kinda redefining the term there. We're talking millions of mph. Size doesn't equal strength, power, or training around here. So. Maybe less with the book by its cover routine?
audio; Trek encrypted 100%
So you're a superhero.
Re: audio; Trek encrypted 100%
Woah, woah. Nobody used the S-word. There's no law of nature that forces everyone with some sort of ability to save the day or rob a bank. It's a personal choice. [Yes. Grife. Maybe she won't blab.]
audio; Trek encrypted 100%
Sorry, I don't really know how it works. I just know Superman and Billy and Tony and those guys are all heroes. Do you have one of those goofy code names or secret identities or whatever?
Re: audio; Trek encrypted 100%
Sorta. Everyone's got a secret identity if you want to get all philosophical about it.
audio; Trek encrypted 100%
I really don't.
Re: audio; Trek encrypted 100%
[The shrug is audible in his voice.] OK, so you tell everyone everything and don't hold anything back. Most of us can't do that.
audio; Trek encrypted 100% -- Sorry, never saw this tag!
I only asked for your superhero name or whatever, not your entire life. If you don't want to tell me, don't, but don't get all high and mighty about it.
audio; Trek encrypted 100%

I'm sorry. It's been a long week, okay? With the whole.. murder.. thing.. [A beat.] Thanks. I won't tell anyone or anything.
Re: audio; Trek encrypted 100%
But… thanks for keeping it quiet. It doesn't matter much to me anymore, but I've got other people to worry about.
audio; Trek encrypted 100%
Like Tim?
[It's a guess. Heroes seem to stick together, so assuming the guy he's living with is a hero too doesn't seem like too much of a stretch, but it's not like she's ever met him to even have any idea what he's like.]
Re: audio; Trek encrypted 100%
[A good sized pause. This is why he'd hedged on admitting anything at first.]
Like Tim. He's my best friend. I'm supposed to be looking out for him. I can't let him get mixed up in anything. Not with some of the guys that've turned up here.
