Video 04 | "It's been a hard day's night."

[What's up turtle, have Raleigh looking...well. Looking more masculine. Considerably more as a matter of fact.]

...It's past time I started looking for work. Like a lot. I worked construction. [he nods and smiles] For a good five years.

I have military experience too but that's sort of a moot point here. I mean at least as far as I can gather.

I'm a quick study. If that matters.

[He nods] Thanks for any offers.

...Are you back to being you ma'am?

You up for a late dinner?

[He doesn't ask, but he knows she'll say yes. She's a good kid. He likes having someone around who gets the excesses, gets how people can sometimes be weird here. Gets how weird it is to just...not be doing anything sometimes.

So he's got his feet up at their late night noodle joint, running his fingers through his hair. Worried.]
grigio: (ignore my hair okay)

Yeah? What were those like?

[It was only ever her, her dad and her mom. And then it was just her and her dad. Occasionally, they'd have one or two people over but those moments were a bit weird because they were usually on mom's birthday. And mom had been gone a while.]
grigio: (i told you don't be stupid.)

Only on special occasions. [A pause and a briefly uncertain smile appears on her face.]

My dad wasn't really big on having groups of people over after my mom died. And then the only time it wasn't him and I at dinner, it was usually people he knew from work.

[Or dad had people over for her mothers birthday and mom had been gone for a long, long time. So they were never really that comfortable.]

grigio: (that fruit salad tasted weird)

She kept him sane. He's...changed. A lot.

[Lord in Heaven. Saying General Grigio changed a lot doesn't even cover it.]

Okay. Not to completely kill the fun we're having, because I really am enjoying time with you, I always do...but my mom decided that death by zombie was better than living in Citi Stadium. My dad did not handle it well at all. He became so hellbent on surviving everything, that he forgot how to actually live, if that makes any sense.
grigio: (are you listening to yourself?)

[She smiles, glad he gets it, even if it is a bit heartbreaking. It's a strain to have someone like that in their life. But she feels better just getting it off her chest. She couldn't really do this with Perry. Not in her opinion. As much as she cared about Perry, sometimes it was just a little hard to share that much.

She glances at the food a moment, looking up at Raleigh just in time to catch what he's doing. A soft smile and a raised eyebrow later, and she waits until he's sitting to ask.]

What's going on?
