Okay, so it's actually been a while since we went back, but things have been busy. Ish. [And Catty's lazy]
The point is, I took a group of people back in time to see if we could find out anything interesting or important, and the answer is...not really. We ran into a kid called Lieuen conducting a business deal sixty seven years ago - I think he was selling sculptures? I don't know, I didn't see that one.
About a hundred and seventy three years ago, there was apparently a really great harvest, because there were a bunch of kedan planning a festival. I didn't hear them speaking, but the kedan I did hear...I don't know, the way they spoke was simpler? It's hard to explain properly, but I guess the kedan hanging around in the present have evolved. Or their language has.
Probably the most interesting was the fact that about three hundred and forty nine years ago, Keeliai got completely wrecked. Well, okay, partially wrecked, but something big hit it. It was really hard to see or hear anything for some reason, but the Emperor's boyfriend - sorry, Evandau - was there running security checkpoints. And there weren't any kedan around at all. A few looked pretty similar to our glorious leaders, and there was a big thing about identity. Like, the checkpoints were all scanning cards and making people ask questions, that sort of thing.
So! I don't know if any of that is helpful or interesting to - well, anyone, but that's what we saw. I'm not sure when I'll start getting things organised to go back a second time, but when I do, I'll probably hit up that last place again. Maybe if I spend three days in the same place, I can find out what was going on.
[She gives everyone a quick salute and a grin] Catty, out!

[But it does make sense, with the fact-checking and such. Evandau did tell them all Mally could be whatever- orwhoever it wanted to be.]

Does that mean the Emperor and Evandau are immortal? If they've lived so long...

So ... [ Wait. ] what? [ None of this means anything to him. Not that it would but, he tried. ] How long were you there this time?
no subject
Three days! We spent a day in each time period, I guess I lucked out and hit all the boring ones. Or we missed something. I would've stayed longer, but I was pretty much ready to fall over by the time we were done.

[It's ridiculously hard for Armin to think of things large-scale. History just plain doesn't exist on his world. It's strange to him that records of anything that far back would be kept.]
So both our captor and Asti are at least that old. But the Kedan are not?
no subject
[She thinks about that] I don't know if I'd really call the Emperor our captor. And Asti's super old. Like, way older than three hundred and forty nine. But unless she was hiding the kedan away somewhere, I think you're probably right about them not being that old. I'll have to check it out when I go back.

Lieuen... [That's a familiar name.] He's the one they call the Alderwood Merchant, isn't he?
video;
[She frowns, thoughtfully] Honestly, I have no idea. But if you recognise it - do we know if that's a common name with the kedan?
