Greetings. I am Commander Spock of the USS Enterprise, a Starfleet contingent of the United Federation of Planets. I understand that we are temporally isolated as well as spatially displaced and that this is not a subdivision of any one possible multiverse, neither a pocket dimension of any one universe, but a unique quantum singularity linking many and each possible variation thereof. If others here have scientific findings of this nature, I pre-emptively extend my gratitude in the event of any information being divulged.

[ AKA pls share ur theories. He's not human, in case anyone with eyes and ears missed the blatant memo staring them in the face, the approximation of what would happen were a dollop of raw science and a great jawline to get mixed with an elf in a blender. Spock pauses thoughtfully, glancing away, and a single slender brow arches when he looks back; there are likely a great deal of customs to be observed from numerous new species and races, none of which he seeks to offend. ]

It has been brought to my attention that this is not my first foray into Keeliai. While I would request that you exert a measure of patience with my ... freshly acquired outlook, you will find me amenable to revisiting former acquaintances. [ Again he hesitates, though this time it comes across as more of an amendment. If you've been hanging out with his BFF, prepare to explain why, how and to what end. ] Similarly, I wish to meet with any and all allies of Captain James T. Kirk at their earliest convenience.

All remaining Starfleet personnel are to submit a fully comprehensive report effective immediately regarding their time here. Audio will suffice, given the circumstances.

[ And off goes the feed. ]

Haven't heard of any of those, nope. And I'm going to assume you've never heard of Jon Grissom, the Mars Archive or the First Contact War.

[This is mostly going the way she expected it to - almost like different words for the same basic things, which is what her conversations with Kirk and McCoy have largely amounted to as well.]

We have FTL drive cores in our ships, and we utilize mass relays to travel between clusters of systems. Mass effect fields generated by element zero can alter the mass of objects, allowing us to travel much faster than standard FTL.
cmdreffingshepard: (that's interesting)

Different words for the same things, sounds like.

[She tilts her head slightly, glancing away.] Would it be rude of me to ask you what species you are? You look almost human, but you're clearly... not.

Do vulcans share evolutionary ancestors with humans? Because, I don't know, I'd peg you as human at ten meters.

Where I come from, only the asari look anything like humans, and they're blue-skinned and mono-gendered.
cmdreffingshepard: (excuse you?)

Huh. I mean, where I come from, most sentient species are bipedal, but I think the most widely-accepted theory about that is just that bipeds are most efficient.

And there's still the elcor, they're quadrupeds, and the hanar are basically... big jellyfish. But we've got sapient life in... well, I'd say one-quarter is a generous estimate. Even with the mass relays, there's still a lot of unexplored space.

Kind of amazing, how many similarities there are.

Except I hear you guys don't have biotics. At least, Kirk and McCoy seemed surprised by mine.

It's a little like telekinesis, I suppose. [She balls her hand into a fist, gathering dark energy around it for a moment, creating a sort of blue glow around her hand. Then she lets it dissipate.]
cmdreffingshepard: (idk what i'm looking at)

[She shrugs.] Yeah, that's fine, as long as you're sure it won't interfere with my implants. [She taps her temple casually to illustrate what she means.]

Oh, and I, uh. I have some other... enhancements that might show up but aren't... normal even for biotics where I come from. Cybernetics.

...Actually, Miranda might want to know about this. [Haha yeah, Shepard, might wanna tell the woman who is responsible for the cybernetics before submitting yourself to tests...]
cmdreffingshepard: (leave me alone)

She's a friend. And she's... kind of the one who did all the cybernetics in the first place. Long story. [Shepard looks a little... reluctant, maybe. It's hardly a secret, she's just somewhat uncomfortable talking about the fact that she was dead for a couple of years.]

It's the polite thing to do, let her know I'm letting other people run tests. And she'll know how to handle things if anything starts going haywire.
cmdreffingshepard: (hello friend!)

It's - [Damn, this is the guy Jim likes so much? She laughs a little.] Trust me, she's not my superior, and there's no protocol in place. I'm pretty one-of-a-kind, even in my own universe.

No, I don't get special treatment for anything. It's just that nobody else has what I have. There aren't rules in place for something that doesn't exist.

It's a pretty long story, actually. Miranda isn't even in the Alliance. It all happened outside the chain of command. [Technically, Shepard isn't really in the Alliance anymore, either. Or, well. She was on leave. Pending investigation.]

Yes, that's exactly what she is. Didn't I say that? [She's pretty sure that's what she said!]

I mean, I didn't know her when she was saving my life, we became friends later. But yes.
cmdreffingshepard: (heh heh)

[She laughs a little - boy howdy, no wonder Doctor McCoy drinks so much, if he has to contend with someone like Jim and someone like Spock together all the time.]

I'm perfectly amenable to this, Commander. I'll be in touch.
