Greetings. I am Commander Spock of the USS Enterprise, a Starfleet contingent of the United Federation of Planets. I understand that we are temporally isolated as well as spatially displaced and that this is not a subdivision of any one possible multiverse, neither a pocket dimension of any one universe, but a unique quantum singularity linking many and each possible variation thereof. If others here have scientific findings of this nature, I pre-emptively extend my gratitude in the event of any information being divulged.

[ AKA pls share ur theories. He's not human, in case anyone with eyes and ears missed the blatant memo staring them in the face, the approximation of what would happen were a dollop of raw science and a great jawline to get mixed with an elf in a blender. Spock pauses thoughtfully, glancing away, and a single slender brow arches when he looks back; there are likely a great deal of customs to be observed from numerous new species and races, none of which he seeks to offend. ]

It has been brought to my attention that this is not my first foray into Keeliai. While I would request that you exert a measure of patience with my ... freshly acquired outlook, you will find me amenable to revisiting former acquaintances. [ Again he hesitates, though this time it comes across as more of an amendment. If you've been hanging out with his BFF, prepare to explain why, how and to what end. ] Similarly, I wish to meet with any and all allies of Captain James T. Kirk at their earliest convenience.

All remaining Starfleet personnel are to submit a fully comprehensive report effective immediately regarding their time here. Audio will suffice, given the circumstances.

[ And off goes the feed. ]

[Kyle gestures to a table, with a few chairs, and takes a seat before replying.]

No, they're not. Their level of technology is comparable to... 13th century Earth? There's a few advancements here and there which you can check out in the Metal Sector, but I'm not sure if that's native or a result of bringing people here. Since there's a lot of scientists and engineers in the population of detainees, there's been interference. My colleagues and I have provided medical aid to the general population, nothing further.

[A beat.]

Populations on the continent have a very different level of technology, I can show you my reports if you want more details.

[He flashes Spock a small, content smile.]

Your captain has a couple of your belongings, I think your tricorder might be amongst them, and I'd be happy to supplement its readings once you've looked at them.

[A beat.]

Otherwise, what do you want to know? Aside from why I asked you to come here.

[He shifts, straightens up, alert where he was relaxed, before.]

Well - uh. You got here, we talked. I was curious about the Federation, you wanted to know more about the Corps.

[A brief smile, at the memory, but there's a long pause, before he puts his right hand on the table, fingers splayed. The ring glints in the light.]

This is a power ring. It's telepathically bonded to me and uses my willpower as fuel. [Without moving his hand, a construct phaser begins to form. Within a few seconds it's gone from a bare outline to a fully formed and functional weapon.] As you can imagine, it requires fine control.

[Another pause.]

It's affected by my emotions. You offered to teach me some techniques, and in return, I shared a few I knew. The last time you were here, you told me you were emotionally unstable.

[Kyle's composed, watching him intently. Spock's tells have changed, that stoic veneer is a little less than it was, but he has to stay sharp. That was a lot, to give him at once, and dammit, even he has a tendency to just leap without looking.]

It was logical.

[Duh.]

I've encountered a few thousand civilisations during my career; it's highly likely something or other would have helped you. [A beat.] And vice versa.

[A longer pause, as he purses his lips.]

That, and... we were friends.

[Spock's silences have always been more telling than the words. He picks them deliberately, but Kyle's in tune to what might be happening underneath them, except since this Spock is from the future, he no longer knows where he fits into the picture, if at all.]

I'm glad you're okay, and that you're here for him now. Sorry it meant being separated from your ship and the rest of your crew.

[He's happy to leave the issue well enough alone; he hasn't changed that much (he doesn't think he has), and it's unfair to put that on Spock again.]

[A Vulcan really wouldn't. Kyle blinks in surprise, but goes along with it. He'll have to learn Spock all over again, when he's right there. The cocktail of frustration, anger, and joy, is one he recognises from being with Wally. The same and yet not.]

[And under all circumstances, not his.]

I did my best.

[Which is the truth, as well as an implication of failure on his part. Some gaps he can't fill, he tries to accept that.]

[Quieter, more firmly:] You didn't. Leave him, I mean. Nobody here goes willingly.

[He's looking at a painting he almost understood, and it got replaced by a second draft or something. Either way, he just goes with it.]

Yeah, art. [he gestures to one of the cupboards, the door of which he hasn't closed yet. It's full of local fauna, in misshapen clay figurines.] They've taken pretty well to sculpting.

I'm a soldier, there's not much to fight yet. [A light shrug.] So I spend most of my time painting, or teaching the kids to do it.

[Kyle, on the other hand, would've flat out stated that Jim was broken. He doesn't question that Spock's choosing to focus on Jim, he thinks it's a natural response. After all, he'd bury himself in work too, to forget about how long he himself has been trapped.]

[However, he's privately amused (and saddened) by the fact that they'll never admit the things that truly bother them.]

[However, this is a little too close to tattling.]

What kind of reports?

There's not that many of those, officially speaking. The Emperor prefers to handle most things on her own. There've been a few incidents of creatures attacking the city - I can give you my reports. [A pause.] Most of it's handled quickly by the large metahuman population - myself included - but where he's participated, Captain Kirk's been up to the task.

I hope you find them satisfactory.

[Unlike Jim, Kyle actually does put everything in, even things that don't reflect on him favourably. He's more concerned about accuracy than he is about looking good.]

No. You already know about the mission where he broke his leg.

[He assumes Jim told Spock about it.]

[He smiles.]

Yeah, I'm staying there. I'd sleep in the office but [he waves, vaguely] he'd drag me out.

[A beat, and then, quietly-]

If anything, I don't want to make you uncomfortable: I know more about you than you do about me, the disparity of information is hardly fair.
