[Eridan had been here for a few hours now, pretty unhappy with it all. He had places to be, flying dogs to form alliances with, you know. IMPORTANT STUFF. But it seemed that any of his complaints have been rightly ignored by the locals, so that was when he decided to turn his attention to his networking device. Clearly complaining on there will get something accomplished.]

I have no reason to suspect you are not who you say, just as the same could be said of myself from your perspective even without knowing that Vulcans do not lie. There is little to be gained from it in this situation. We are all equal in our status as detainees.

If they are treating you with disrespect, either seek to educate them on your culture or ignore their emotional outbursts. I have been insulted several times over since my arrival and found it wiser to simply let them be. Humans strongly bridle against any possibility they are in the wrong and are ill-suited to logical thinking.

It is largely a fruitless endeavor to try and earn the respect of those who persist in fearing what they refuse to understand. Patience is as much a virtue as intelligence.

Honestly this is probably the smoothest conversation he's had in perigees. Instead of sending him a text back, he just turned on the video. Seemed simpler. And there he is, grey skinned, with his styled black hair with a violet streak in it. Eyes yellow where normally they'd be white, his irises a dark grey next to his black pupils, which honestly made them look as if they were the same thing. In place of ears, however, he had fins on either side of his face. Lastly, he had two horns on his head, shaped like lightning bolts that went from a yellow, to orange, to red orange by the base.]

Figured this would be simpler than answerin' you wia text. Kill two flapbeasts with one stone, and all a that.

[Yeah, Eridan is the equivalent of a 13 year old, though he'd call it 6 solar sweeps before using such human language. He takes in the sight of Spock, he does look rather human, though he does see that green to him that speaks of just how inhuman he is. The ears help. Though... just what is with that hair cut? Eridan decides not to comment.]

[That possible pun is not entirely lost on him, and while puns of that nature in the past were known to grind on his nerves, there was something amusing about Spock's use of it, whether intentional or not.]

The humans from my own time are far better suited to encountering alien customs and will not take offense at the first given opportunity if their beliefs do not coincide with yours. Xenophobia is an illogical condition for space-faring explorers to harbor, such as we are. If others arrive, I can arrange for you to meet with more tolerant company.
