[It's been a day or so since Peter got set up in his suite. He's not entirely sure. He'd been exposed to total information overload when he first showed up, and he needed the time to sit and let it all process. Not that doing so allowed anything to really make sense. But still. And of course with the way his body had refused to cooperate with even the simple task of listening to someone, he'd been in desperate need of some actual rest. But when he next woke up and really felt aware of his situation, only one thought really resounded.

They told him that this was an "In-Between." But Peter wasn't fooled.

Eventually he pulls himself out of bed (with a wince) and makes his way over to the console in his suite. It doesn't take long for Peter to figure out how it works, and as soon as he's got it running, he's turning on the audio feed. He's sure he's still looking pretty beaten up and he doesn't want to alarm anyone, after all. This doesn't feel like a good time for sympathy from total strangers. And "In-Between" or no, keeping his identity a secret was second nature. When he speaks, he's trying to be slow and careful about what he says-- and at the same time, there's a nervousness in his voice along with that slight strain caused by his injuries.]

Um... Hi, everyone. I, uh-- Not to sound ungrateful to the- the people who brought me over here and explained everything, but. Uh. Just wondering if there's somewhere I can go for, y'know, fresh clothes. And.. And maybe some clean bandages...? Or ice packs... Y'know, just-- any stuff like that, that would actually be awesome to get...

[There's a brief pause, during which he can probably be heard fidgeting awkwardly.]

And I... I get that I'm-- we're all stuck here. For like, forever. But-- [He stops again, breath catching. Somebody just level with me. Seriously. Just admit that this is-- some kind of after life and that's why we can't leave.] ... Never mind.

Clean clothes would really help me out a lot, thanks.

It's interesting. [ scary, mostly, but she doesn't wanna be a debbie downer ] So, Peter Parker. Where are you from?

New York. What about you?

New York! [ man she misses NYC, and it's really obvious ] I grew up in Manhattan, lower east side. Are you from the city, or-? [ or upstate, boooo boring ]

[The smile is obvious in his voice.] I'm actually from Queens. Forest Hills.

Cool. [ though she doesn't have the heart to tell him they don't make pizza here like they do in the city, cries ]

Well, just so you know, you haven't just vanished out of nowhere back home. Time freezes? Or something like that. Time stops right when they decided to bring you here, so once you go back it'll be like you never left.

Oh... Yeah, I- I think I heard something like that from someone. But not gonna lie, the way you just explained it was a lot easier to get.

What can I say? I'm pretty great at putting things in simple-terms. Science was never my best subject.

That's a legitimate talent, by the way. Simplifying things.

You think so?

Yeah. I'm pretty sure scientists don't know how to do that.

Well, yeah, but scientists are pretty great at- y'know, science. Science-ing. [ yeah it's obvious she doesn't know why she's not just taking a compliment and defending scientists instead ] Maybe some people like to hear about quantum- time- physics. And how it pertains to our situation here. It's probably very fascinating, and educational. [ sage nod ]

[The not taking a compliment thing is pretty amusing.]

I guess. It could be helpful, too.

Maybe. But we've got some science-y types here, and I don't think they've managed to find any answers in the whole... how and why department.

Oh… But they're definitely looking?

Mhm. One of my friends from home has been looking into it. I think she was, at least, but she's been here over a year so I guess progress has been a little slow.

-- Don't tell her I said that.

Though I can guess it must be hard to find any really helpful information...

They tend to keep most things hush-hush, for some reason.

The people doing the info-digging, or the locals?

The locals. Most of them don't like us, like we chose to show up here or something. It's a little rocky.

And I mean, there might be people trying to research on their own and just not telling anyone, but for the most part, if somebody discovers something that might help all of us figure out what's going on, they'll post it to the network.

Hmm... Well, I guess if they really think we're supposed to be here to help them, they wouldn't want to help us leave...

True. But it's rude, stealing us like this. They could have asked, I'm sure there are some people that would have actually sad yes. I mean, you were obviously in the middle of something when you showed up here, they could have at leat waited until after to be like "Hey, our turtle island needs some help. Up for it?" But no.

[He lets out a weak, only slightly strained laugh.]

Yeah... Well, things could be a lot worse.

True. But that doesn't excuse the rudeness of it all.

Are you doing alright? I mean, you were asking for bandages, that- happened, right? You're okay?

It is pretty rude.

Oh... Yeah, I'm- I'm okay. I'll be okay.

Good. I mean, this place isn't the easiest to get used to - we're literally living on a turtle, it takes some time - but we're pretty much all in the same boat, so.

I just mean. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask, yeah?
