[The console turns on to the sight of Teddy's anxious face and in the background the viewer can just make out the shape of a giant egg laying in a pile of blankets on the floor.]

I'm calling all turtle egg parents here. I'm a new...,uh parent I guess. Man that is really strange to say. This is my first time taking care of the egg by myself. I guess I was just wondering what are some of the ways you other egg parents take care of your egg. Like, do you ever leave your apartment? Because I have to admit the idea of walking around out there with the egg is kind of intimidating.

So...yeah. Help? Please?

[Teddy scoots in closer.]

I have another question for you guys, and this one probably applies to a wider group of people here. I know that a lot of people here have powers or special abilities that are unique to them. That's probably old news to everyone, right? What I'm interested in knowing is what kind of powers or abilities does everyone have? Think of it as a kind of survey. It might become useful in the future to know that we have twelve magic users and only two telepaths or whatever. [If not it will certainly satisfy Teddy's geeky need to categorize as many new heroes and their abilities as possible in his head. He's definitely missing Wikipedia right about now.]

You don't have to give your name if that makes you uncomfortable. Feel free to reply with an anonymous text if you want. To start things off, I'll go first. My main talent is shape-shifting. But I also have some other handy abilities like super-strength and a healing factor. [The anonymous text idea is really for people who want to keep their established secret identity a secret. Teddy feels more comfortable being open about his identity here where he's surrounded by other people with powers, but he knows there are probably others who don't feel the same.]

Hel, big mama's mind is entirely unfathomable. I was nosy once, and just physically being up near the damn beast's head was... not pleasant. It makes you lose track of your thoughts.

[ Anyone not Loki would have described it as peaceful and relaxing, but he got 'terrifying' out of that experience. ]

I heard it's supposed to be really soothing up there. Maybe you went up there while she has having a bad day?

You think so? Still, I'm not entirely sure I'll be chancing her again, not alone.

Not a bad idea. You're no doubt well liked, practically one of the family given your duties as a nanny and frequent greenness. We need to talk besides.

[ Loki is just going to take that at face value and run with it. He doesn't want to go there, but it would do. ]

We do? [His brows are raised.] Alright fine. Name a time and I'll be there.

Tomorrow, some time before midnight? Enough time to get a sitter, I imagine.

Cool. Meet me at 1B in the Fire District, and I'll teleport us out.

[Teddy left the egg in Cassie's care that night and made his way to the Fire District. It's not a district he's gone into much, so it takes a couple of extra minutes for him to find his destination. But it's not like Loki had given him an exact time, and 11:56 PM is still before midnight.

He knocks.]

[ The door swings open inward, and there's an absolute chaotic mess of assorted arcane symbolism visible from the doorway. The sight of whatever he's got going on in there is a brief one, though, as Loki slips out and closes the door behind him. ]

And here I thought you'd stood me up.

[ His hand glows with a green almost-fire as he settles it on the door, and the whole thing flashes with that characteristic light of his magic. ]

[The brief glimpse of symbols only produces a raised brow from Teddy. He's not sure he wants to know. Not knowing would probably be easier. But then again, it's Loki, he probably wouldn't get a straight answer anyways.]

What are you doing in there? Stewing a witch's brew? [Teddy figures sarcasm will help distract from the fact that he's seriously curious.]

Oh, you know, the usual. You ready?

[ Without actually waiting on a reply, he follows up with the magically translated cantrip: ] Both elsewhere.

[ And in a flash of light, they're at their destination even before midnight. ]

[He really should have expected that. Even with some experience teleporting from Billy, the sudden shift in surroundings leaves him a little dizzy at first.]

A little warning next time would be nice.

Oh, right, you're not used to it yet.

[ He grins up at him, and shrugs helplessly. ]

Worry not, you'll get the hang of it.
