[This was, unfortunately, something she had experienced before, and even with that, it still took her a couple days before she was able to make this announcement. Even with knowing that it meant that he was hopefully home. She wasn't willing to break down where everyone could see it.]

Jaime, my son, is no longer here.

Tony, Miles, if you could come over to the clinic at some point, I'd be grateful. He left some instructions for where a few things should go, in case... this happened.

[Still hard to say.]

[Peter nods slowly in reply. He recognizes the grief, but he knows that at this point, it's usually best to let her cope and grieve in her own way.]

Yeah. Yes, we did. [He's honestly a little surprised that she remembers that. Now he just has to hope she doesn't realize that he's the masked teenager that showed up at her clinic all beaten up the way he was.]

[He announced on the network that he needed clothes because of showing up without any; it's not exactly the sort of thing you forget. Fortunately for Peter, she hasn't put the costumed teenager and the person showing up on the screen together as being one and the same.]

Do you still need more clothes?

[It won't do much good to keep Jaime's clothes when they could be put to better use by someone else.]

[The question catches him off guard and he blinks in surprise. Clothes?]

I... Yeah, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have more...

[And then his eyebrows knit together in concern. Wait- If she's offering him clothes, and her son just disappeared, then...] If you're sure you don't wanna, I dunno, hang on to them just in case...

[While she could hold onto them just in case, it'd just be a constant reminder, even if he did come back in the near future. She shakes her head.]

If he comes back, I can worry about that then. Holding onto them in the mean time doesn't help anyone, when they can be put to use by someone who needs it.

[He can only nod at that. She has a point, after all. Ducking his head, Peter rubs idly at the back of his neck.]

Okay... Should I just, like, come over...?

Let me get them washed first. [Doing laundry on a regular basis: Not one of Jaime's strong suits.] I don't want to give you dirty clothes.

[That gets him to smile- even chuckle a little bit.]

I can totally do that for you, if it'd be easier...

[He's used to helping out around the house, after all.]

It's no problem.

[She's not giving you dirty clothes, Peter. Some things are not meant to be endured.]
